PrepRedzoneWI is following up our article concentrating on the best 2021s not named Preseason All-State for Division 3 by moving into D2! We’re two days out from the season so let’s wrap up with as much exposure for the seniors as possible. All these athletes weren’t named to our Preseason All-State feature, but can ball nonetheless. I’d love to see them all play football I’m college. Check out the included watchlist as well so there isn’t a name you won’t know in D2 going into the year. Thanks for reading, everyone. It’s going to be a great season! Sorry about some of the weird spacing issues I don't know what's going on.
Top-17
[player_tooltip player_id="31139" first="Adam" last="Timbrook"] (De Pere) RB. 5’7, 190. The kid has some absolute jets and uses that speed well. If he gets daylight he's gone and I was happy to see that he's got a strong enough lower body to thwart weaker tackle attempts. I like his vision and low center of gravity as well. Junior Season
[player_tooltip player_id="30863" first="Ja’Shawn" last="Austin"] (Nicolet) RB. 5’11, 170. A really fun RB to watch, Austin has good vision and is deceivingly strong and a hard-nosed tough to bring down runner for his size. Good burst as well. I like his tape a lot he's a really natural RB. Junior Highlights 2019
TJ Payne (Hortonville) WR. 5’11, 175. Faster WR with good hips and good hands. As a WR I saw him show a good job shutting down his route and readjusting when the QB got outside of the pocket and I like that *Kirk Cousins voice*. Also does a good job adjusting and tracking the ball in the air and has some good hops as well. Solid DB as well who can definitely play either WR or DB in college. 2019 Season
Casey Justman (Hartford) 5’8, 150. In 2019 posted 17 receptions for 278 yards and 2 TDs. Returned two KO for a TD. Really dangerous player with the ball in his hands and has some good strength for his size that helps him to make defenders miss in the open field. Really impressive returner and is a nice deep-threat as a WR. Junior Highlights
Mason Kirchberg (DeForest) FB/HB. 5’11, 190. 2nd Team All-Conference. All-Area HM. Won a state championship with DeForest in 2019. Fullback is probably my favorite position on the football field and Kirchberg is a good one. With a solid build for the position he's got some pop in his pads but more importantly is a good fundamental blocker who keeps his hands inside and his feet pumping. Looks like he's willing to put a hat onto anyone in-front of him. Played some Hback too and is a force at the position as well. Junior Year Highlights
[player_tooltip player_id="30835" first="Trey" last="Kelley"] (Racine Park) WR/DB. 6’, 175. Posted 46 catches for 683 yards and 3 TDs. Athletic and natural wideout with some really impressive plays on his highlights. He possesses good hands and is really strong after the catch as he showed he can bounce off tacklers as well as juke them out of their cleats if need be. Has no problem running over the middle or making contested catches and can also hurt a defense deep. I like his film. Junior SZN
[player_tooltip player_id="30791" first="Alex" last="Boyko"] (Greenfield) RB/DB/ 6’1, 190. I should have put Boyko on the Preseason All-State team as an athlete, but it's too late now. Offensively, Boyko is a very explosive runner who can run past you or right through you. He's a smooth and natural athlete that can play RB or catch the ball, and has some serious speed and acceleration. His burst is particularly impressive, and he's a strong runner who can bounce off weaker tackle attempts. Defensively, he's a really impressive safety who makes plays from the defensive backfield. Whether that's making a play on the ball or smacking you in the mouth, he's game. I am a BIG fan of Boyko and he really should have been a Preseason All-State pick. Coaches: check him out, please! 2019 Offensive Highlights 2019 Defensive Highlights
[player_tooltip player_id="31110" first="Logan" last="Fitzhugh"] (Kaukauna) WR. 6’3, 180. Has some speed for a 6'3 wideout and can line up outside or in the slot. A goal-line threat, Fitzhugh can run a mean fade route and has some good feet in his release off the LOS. Has some good shake in his hips as well and made some impressive catches last season. Also possesses some good hops and times his hops well to locate ball at his highest point. Kid has some game! 2019 JR Highlights
Alex Gerstner (Waukesha West) LB. 6’1, 220. Great size and great closing speed. He'll whack the crap out of a QB no problem. Good, strong tackler who laid some big hits last season and is poised for a big senior campaign. Junior Season
[player_tooltip player_id="30843" first="Brock" last="Thornton"] (Menomonie) TE. 6’5, 205. I think he'd project as a TE in college but Thornton can play some WR too and runs some really impressive routes for a guy of his size. Has the ability to break down and cut his routes off efficiently and is strong enough to break out of weaker tackles after the catch. Can use his bigger frame to box out DBs and position himself well for the catch. Versatile, he's got some sneaky speed as well and is a really dangerous offensive weapon. 2019 Junior Season
[player_tooltip player_id="30916" first="Will" last="Ockler"] (Menomonie) FB/LB. 5’11, 200. There's a lot to love about Ockler as a prospect. State qualifier in the 100 and 200 M sprints as a sophomore, he's got some impressive speed that is particularly on display as a LB, where he flys through holes and gets to the QB in a hurry. Ockler really made a strong case to have been named Preseason All-State as an athlete and I'm kicking myself for not doing it. Will is a really natural and fun to watch football player who could play a variety of positions at the college level. Highlights
Jake Kempken (Waterford) DB. 6’, 190. In 2019 posted 72 tackles, 2 INTs. Named All-Conference HM. Really physical tackler who can hit you high or low and provides a stout last line of defense from the S position and a physical presence. He also does a good job of diagnosing passing plays and flying to the ball. JR Highlights
Jayce Rocha (Milton) LB. 6’3, 210. In 2019 posted 53 tackles, 1 FF, 1 INT. Great size and a hard-hitter who shows a lot of promising qualities in coverage and would make for a great collegiate OLB. I love how he sticks ball-carriers right in the chest too. Junior Highlights
Max Steinbrecher (Pulaski) DL/OL. 6’6, 210. There's a lot to like about the Pulaski product and his potential. Really lean 6'6 player who isn't lacking in aggressiveness can take a player far. Moves like a TE or WR but plays around the line which is almost a shame. He's got some serious pop and will stick his helmet right under your chin. Highlights 2019
[player_tooltip player_id="31075" first="Nathan" last="Nevala"] (Holmen) RB/WR. 5’10, 180. Dangerous RB/WR who made some big plays last season for Holmen and runs really hard for his size. Also has some great speed and can make oppenents miss in a variety of fashions. Junior Year
Nathan Lesperance (Green Bay SW) TE/DE. 6’5, 245. A huge TE who blocks like an OL but can be utilized in the passing game, he could play a ton of different positions in college. Naturally strong, if he could clean up some technique stuff he'd be a really dominant TE. Junior Year 2019
Skyler Gill-Howard (Greenfield) LB. 6’1, 230. A really well-built LB who is a powerful tackler and run-defender, he also moves really well for his size and is no slouch in pass coverage. His explosiveness through the LOS stands out, and I think he'd make for a really great collegiate ILB prospect. 2019
Standouts
AJ Arndt (Hartford) SS/OLB/K. In 2019 posted 54 tackles, 4 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, 2 FR, 1 FF, 2 int, 5 PBUs. Junior Year 2019

Good blocker with a high-motor who always keeps his feet moving and has a good understanding of leverage. Junior Year
[player_tooltip player_id="30874" first="Dawson" last="Rondorf"] (West Bend East) QB. 6’2, 200. Athletic duel-threat QB who can hurt you with his legs and ran some RPO last year. He moves outside of the pocket well and does a good job of setting his feet when he throws downfield. Throws an accurate deep ball and does a great job of improvising as a QB when things break down. Junior Highlights
Claude D. Springer (Slinger) DE. 6’2, 210. Has some impressive pass-rush moves and does a great job using his hands and can get skinny through gaps. The use of his hands help him in the pass and run game. Has a good frame as well. Junior SZN
Ryan Kahl (Menomonie) QB. 6’, 175. Has a strong arm and shows some good footwork in the pocket and on the move. Will hang in there in the pocket with a defender bearing down him and a hit under the chin is coming. Accurate passer as well. Junior Season
Evan Sisko (Menomonie) OL/DL. 6’2, 210. The first play of his highlights is really impressive. I always like seeing big-time special teams plays and Sisko made a game-changing FF on punt coverage for the first play on his tape. Although he's a little undersized he's a tough and hard-nosed lineman who is strong and plays football as it should: aggressively. Good in pass-pro and in the run game as well. Junior Year
