Nate’s Game Balls from Saturday Night Lights

<strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">MINNETONKA-- </span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> On Saturday, I had a day where I could not get enough of watching 7on7 football, so much so that after my 7on7 games at Lifetime Sport in Eden Prairie ended, I made the trip on the way home (or that is what I told the wife anyways) to stop at Minnetonka High School.</span> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">Saturday Night Lights, which was put on by Inspired Athlex, was another 7on7 football league that came about after the MSHSL made the decision on fall football having a 16 team league played under the lights on Saturdays at Einer Anderson Stadium. Although there were six teams on Saturday night due to the recent decision to play fall football, there was still tons of talent in Minnetonka’s two fields.</span> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">GAME BALLS</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">These names were the standouts on my end from Saturday night at Minnetonka. We’ve talked about how much of a threat Anderson has been all summer in 7on7 with his time with Potenza Sports, and he proved again the kid is a gamer with great vision on the football and clutch speed.</span> <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2C4nUM" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Fr. Tape</span></a><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> </span> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">[player_tooltip player_id="18083" first="Kaleb" last="Skelly"], WR, Spring Lake Park (2021)</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">Who made the most aggressive play on Saturday night? It was [player_tooltip player_id="18083" first="Kaleb" last="Skelly"] of Spring Lake Park. In a crucial short-yardage situation, I got to see the excellent effort Skelly has as he dived for a well needed first down for the Panthers offense. If he is doing that in 7on7 football, I can’t wait to watch the effort he has in the high school season. The Northern Sun has been actively recruiting Skelly as he holds four offers with that excellent 6’4 frame at wide receiver.</span> <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2CXtEg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Jr. Tape</span></a> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Kalid Ahmed, WR, Edina (2021)</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">No Recent Tape. The kid is a versatile receiver flying under the radar and is a WR to watch this season getting throws from [player_tooltip player_id="18124" first="George" last="Sandven"].</span> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Michael Anderson, WR, Eagan (2021)</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">I loved how Anderson makes cuts on his routes. Extremely crisp routes, one of the crispest route runners I saw on Saturday. Not much on tape, but Anderson was a great player for the Wildcats on Saturday night.</span> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Jaxen Iverson, WR, Minnetonka (2021)</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">Iverson is such an excellent cutter; it’s sometimes alien-like. Iverson was a significant threat to the Skippers on Saturday. He used his massive cuts to get some space, especially in his final game against Edina. Iverson somehow is flying off the radar with no offers yet on the table, and one that should pick some up with the upcoming season!</span> <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9273220/5da8e1f590f9cb0df4617335" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Jr Tape</span></a> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">[player_tooltip player_id="18116" first="Joey" last="Sorenson"], DB, Spring Lake Park (2021)</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">Sorenson is the definition of a flyer in the secondary. A flyer as he’s speedy and a flyer to the football as he lays some wood when he makes tackles. Sorenson is an absolute workhorse that may be undersized but plays with tons of aggression and a chip on his shoulder. Sorenson is still looking for a college home too!</span> <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2CL0ZE" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Junior Tape</span></a> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Ashton Hoffman, DB, Minnetonka (2022)</span></strong> <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10908822/5dd2afff0c53730d001b73ec" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">JV Tape vs. Becker</span></a> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Mikey Say, DB, Spring Lake Park (2023)</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">No Tape, but Say made an impressive interception in one of the first games I watched of Spring Lake Park on Saturday night.</span> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Kurt Schaefer, DB, Chanhassen (2022)</span></strong> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">Schaefer made an impressive interception on Saturday. On the tape, Schaefer is wrap up tackler that plays with a lot of energy and will bring that same energy to the Storm in the coming weeks of high school football.</span> <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/12836390/5db08c8c0dcb1406e07733b8" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">So.
