With that said, we are going to take a look at the top skill position players from as many districts as possible in the state before fall camps begin.
Some of these players are already receiving college interest, while others are looking to catch the eye of that right coach.
Louis Brooks – WDM Dowling
Many Div. I talents have come out of West Des Moines Dowling over the years. Class of 2021 wide receiver Louis Brooks would like to add his name to that list.
Brooks caught a team-leading 29 passes last year for 522 yards with six touchdowns. He averaged 18 yards per catch for the Maroons, who captured yet another Class 4A state title.
On special teams, Brooks was dangerous, averaging almost 17 yards per kickoff return. He started his senior year with five catches for 63 yards.
Tucker Langenberg Tucker Langenberg 6'2" | 205 lbs | LB Urbandale | 2021 State IA – Urbandale
Tucker Langenberg Tucker Langenberg 6'2" | 205 lbs | LB Urbandale | 2021 State IA only had seven catches as a junior last fall, but he made the most of them.
Langenberg hauled in three touchdowns and recorded 241 yards, averaging over 34 yards per catch. He was also dangerous as a running back, racking up 437 yards and five touchdowns, giving him 11 yards per touch there.
Not to be out-done by himself on offense, Langenberg had 65.5 tackles with 44 solo stops and 5.5 for loss on defense. He had three defensive and special teams touchdowns, including two interception returns among his five forced turnovers.
In the season opener, Langenberg ran for 183 yards with three touchdowns.
Dayson Clayton – Fort Dodge
Injuries kept Dayson Clayton from showcasing his abilities last year, but the Class of 2021 prospect is primed for a big fall.
Clayton ran for 579 yards with four touchdowns, averaging over six yards per carry. He also hauled in 15 passes for 124 yards and a score.
In the season opener this year, Clayton racked up 384 yards from scrimmage and had six touchdowns.
Tyler Schreier – Fort Dodge
A speedster in every sense of the word, Fort Dodge’s Tyler Schreier takes over as the top target on offense.
Schreier had 25 catches for 309 yards with three scores last year, averaging over 12 yards per catch. He also averaged nearly 35 yards per kickoff return including a 90-yard touchdowns and fielded five punts.

Just like Des Moines Roosevelt as a team, 2019 was a big year for Jaden Koger Jaden Koger 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Roosevelt | 2021 IA .
The Class of 2021 running back racked up 1,225 yards with 16 touchdowns on 160 carries, averaging almost eight yards per touch. He also caught six passes for another 35 yards.
Koger also got his year off to a big start with 135 yards rushing and two total scores vs. West Des Moines Valley.
Lennx Brown Lennx Brown 6'3" | 195 lbs | ATH Abraham Lincoln | 2021 IA – Council Bluffs Lincoln
Council Bluffs Lincoln’s Lennx Brown Lennx Brown 6'3" | 195 lbs | ATH Abraham Lincoln | 2021 IA took command of the position with a 913-yard campaign last year.
Brown completed 84 of 151 with six touchdowns, averaging almost 11 yards per completion. He also ran for 323 yards and had five more touchdowns.
On defense, Brown added 12.5 tackles and had an interception he returned for a touchdown.
Dante Hansen Dante Hansen 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Sioux City North | 2021 IA – Sioux City North
Sioux City North’s Dante Hansen Dante Hansen 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Sioux City North | 2021 IA put his name on the map last fall.
Hansen recorded 37 catches for 779 yards and nine scores to lead North. He averaged over 21 yards per completion and also had 78 yards rushing.
On defense, Hansen contributed 23.5 tackles including 11 solo stops and 3.5 for loss. He also averaged 18 yards per kickoff return, including a 95-yard touchdown.
In the season opener, he hauled in just two passes, but they went for 98 yards including a touchdown.
Gavin Hauge – Sioux City North
Gavin Hauge of Sioux City North picked right up where he left off last year.
Hauge threw for 1,241 yards with eight touchdowns, completing 86 of 214 and averaging over 14 yards per completion. In the season opener, he completed 7 of 15 for 225 yards with three scores, averaging over 32 yards per completion.
