I'm rolling forward from the article I just published on the Top-14 2021 athletes in Division 5 identified by PrepRedzoneWI with the 2022 standouts not named to the Preseason All-State D5 teams. Get to know them and some of the things of things they do well right here below! Thanks for reading.
Sam Peiffer (Cedar Grove-Belgium) WR/DB. 6'1 180 lbs. GPA 3.32 @sampeiffer As a receiver, Peiffer totaled 19 catches for 374 yards and 5 TDs and is a bigger-bodied wideout capable of playing the X or Z receiver. Has good breakaway speed, good speed, and is strong enough to run through contact when he's tracking or catching the ball. Quality deep threat as a WR. As a DB he totaled 28 tackles, 4 PBUs, 2 interceptions and shows good ball skills and no hesitation to hit you. Also has some decent hips for a safety and is capable of playing man-coverage if needed. Sophomore Defense Sophomore Offense
Noah Barrett (Stratford) RB/LB. 6' 170 lbs. Versatile athlete who lined up all over the field for Stratford last season and is just a total grinder who is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. Tough and strong for his size and has some good vision as a RB. Also threw out a sweet B button (spin move) as a ball-carrier. Has the frame to put on a lot more weight. Sophomore Season
Raife Smart (Stratford) RB. 5'10, 180 lbs. Dangerous RB with good vision and good speed who can go North-South or hit the corner and turn on the jets. Strong runner for his size. 2019 Season
Ethan Hoogesteger (Nekoosa) QB. 5'10, 180 lbs. @ehooge1 Very mobile QB with good touch and accuracy in the short to medium passing game. Dangerous as a ball-carrier as well if he takes off. When he sets his feet he can get the ball down the field well. Sophomore Season
Dillon Ellefson (Westby) QB. 6' 170 lbs. @DillonEllefson Quick and clean release with good footwork and good arm strength. Very sneaky and elusive in the pocket and keeps his eyes downfield. Mobile QB who can roll out and make a variety of throws on the move or after he sets his feet. Long frame with a lot more room to grow. Can create and improvise plays if protection breaks down in the pocket. I'm a big fan of his game and he has a high ceiling. Sophomore Tape
