Braedon stepped into a huge role for Kimberly this season. Not only did he handle his usual LB role on defense, but he also was the team’s starting QB. A QB that was going to killing defenses with his legs most of all as well as make timely passes with his arm. However, I do predict he fits best as an LB at the next level and is one of the best at his position who is uncommitted. Braedon has outstanding range for the LB position. He flies around the front seven or runs the loop and then will chase down the QB. The senior is sudden and shifty, allowing him to play through the trenches while avoiding blocks, but also has the hand strength to shed blocks quickly when he does engage with a lineman. Braedon does a good job of setting the edge against the run too. He can take on pulling linemen without giving up ground and will fight through those blocks to still make the tackle on the edge. Don’t miss out on this steal.

Braedon put together a great day. I had watched his Hudl this offseason so I had an idea about his talents, but getting to see him in person painted the picture much more clear. Braedon has an excellent frame to build on in a college weight room. He is roughly 6’3″ 215 lbs and the size doesn’t hinder him at all. Braedon has a strong foundation of body control, fluidity in his movements, and flexibility. He looks comfortable dropping his pad level to change direction and has a solid burst out of those changes. In the positional drills we got a great look through several drills showing that fluidity and easy movement skills. The cherry on top of a great day showing off his athleticism was that he earned an offer from MNSU- Mankato, who were in attendance and watching him closely throughout the camp.

An athlete who is going to shake things up in the rankings is Kimberly’s leading tackler on their stout 2023 defense. Braeden is growing into a next level frame that is currently 6’3″ 205 lbs. The ILB has a wide array of tools to continue to develop and strengthen. The junior led his team in tackles thanks in big part to his high end instincts for the position. Ellefson is quick to read and recognize OL flow, and movement of the backs/QB. Braedon also has a an effective base of athleticism so he can move with the flow of the play and meet ball carriers right in the hole while also avoiding blocks. The junior has a good closing burst. The overall range is also effective, allowing him to chase down plays from behind or chase down the ball outside the tackles. Make sure to have Braedon on your boards early on.
