[player_tooltip player_id="33652" first="Brock" last="Vandagriff"], Quarterback, 6’3”, 200 pounds, Prince Avenue Christian School NFL Comparison: Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers Vandagriff looks eerily similar to Chargers’ first round pick Justin Herbert. From the flow protruding from his helmet, to the off platform throws that have made them both electric players on their respective levels. Herbert is a big, athletic option at the signal caller position. Herbert is much larger than Vandagriff is at the moment. Even so, their physical profiles project in the same direction. It isn’t out of the realm of possibility that Vandagriff grows an inch or two in the next four or five years. Herbert is nearly 240 pounds. He moves like a much smaller man. Vandagriff isn’t quite as heavy but has done some growing of his own over the last few years. He is listed at 200 pounds today, but with a growing frame he could grow even more in the coming years. Like Herbert, Vandagriff is a dangerous threat with his legs if he gets into space. Both players have snake out of the pocket effortlessly and reset and throw on the move at an elite level. The ball jumps out of both players’ hands. Vandagriff’s release is a little more compact and quicker. Herbert has a longer stride into a throw. The results are the same. [player_tooltip player_id="33653" first="Terrence" last="Ferguson"], Offensive lineman, 6’4” 300 pounds, Peach County High School NFL Comparison: Trent Williams, Washington. Ferguson’s feet are always moving. That’s the sign of a lineman that will stay healthy and make blocks at the second and even third level of the defense. Trent Williams has made a name for being a solid down the field blocker at the NFL Level. Ferguson plays with a nasty similar to that of Williams. Williams and Ferguson both seem to enjoy walling up their man and mirroring them down the field before they finish them to the ground. The body styles are similar. Ferguson has a solid build but athlete feet. He could be a premier guard or tackle at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="33654" first="Micah" last="Morris"], Offensive lineman, 6’4” 320 pounds, Camden County High School NFL Comparison: Isaiah Wilson, Tennessee Titans. Morris is a plugger. He’s that powerful tackle you stick on the strong side and run the ball down the other team’s throat. He’s powerfully built like Wilson, who actually lost about 30 pounds while playing at the University of Georgia. Wilson and Morris both aren’t the downfield blockers that you can count on at the next level. They’re roles are clear. [player_tooltip player_id="33655" first="Deion" last="Colzie"], Wide Receiver, 6’4”, 190 pounds, Athens Academy NFL Comparison: Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals. Colzie gets off the bus and people’s heads turn. The comparison to Arizona Cardinals’ star Larry Fitzgerald is a subtle one. Colzie’s strides and length don’t immediately link him to the Cardinals’ all time leading receiver. Fitzgerald is already a smaller receiver to the high school senior Colzie. Fitzgerald plays much bigger. Both Colzie and Fitzgerald don’t mind traffic whether its going for a jump ball or escaping a crowd after a short reception. Colzie has an intelligence to how he runs routes. They’re smooth and methodical. He already has a grasp of when to go fast and slow and how to use his body to ward off smaller receivers in route to his spot on the field. When he makes a big play, Colzie seems to turn and hand the ball to the official without much hubbub. Fitzgerald isn’t much of a celebrator either. Both players don’t mind blocking and they do it well. Despite, being talented in catching the football both separate themselves and effect winning by the small parts of their games. [player_tooltip player_id="33659" first="Amarius" last="Mims"], Offensive Lineman, 6’7” 310, Bleckley County High School NFL Comparison: Tyron Smith, Dallas Cowboys. Men as big and Tyron Smith and [player_tooltip player_id="33659" first="Amarius" last="Mims"] shouldn’t be able to move as gracefully as they do. Turning tape on of the 6 feet 5-inch-tall Smith and the 6 feet 7-inch-tall Mims you immediately see how easy it is for them to be out in front of their running backs and wide receivers. Mims has some growing technically, as Smith did coming out of USC. His raw athletic ability is tantalizing. Smith’s raw athleticism helped him develop quickly at the college and pro level with elite coaching. Mims has a similar future and upside.
