Now its time to take a look at the future and see what’s in store from the juniors. Here are the class of 2022 wide receivers to keep an eye on this coming season!
Mehki Flowers Mehki Flowers 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Central Dauphin East | 2022 State PA – 6’1″, 187lbs, Steelton-Highspire
Flowers, our 4th ranked 2022 prospect, is a great all-around talent who is physical enough to box players out of the endzone and score while also having the explosiveness and change of direction ability necessary to make defenders miss in the open field. His big body and good get off makes him a tough jam for even the best corners. He’s a crisp and efficient route runner who can be trusted to keep his feet underneath him and stay square. Flowers has the best hands in his class and can jump with the best defensive backs and pluck the ball at its highest point. A stellar junior campaign can cement him as 2022’s best overall wide receiver.
Anthony Ivey Anthony Ivey 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Manheim Township | 2022 State PA – 5’11″, 170lbs, Manheim Township
This kid is an electric player. Ivey primarily plays outside but can give reps at the slot and contribute as a kick returner where he displays great open-field vision. Manheim loves to send him deep and with a beautiful stride and track-star speed, it’s easy to understand why. Ivey’s best trait is navigating through contact, whether that be at the line of scrimmage or downfield, and not losing stride. This offense can strike from anywhere on the field so long as Ivey is in, he can burn past the secondary and track the ball effortlessly through the air.
Emmanuel Sia Emmanuel Sia 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Bishop McDevitt, Wyncote | 2022 State PA – 5’9″, 165lbs, Bishop McDevitt
The one thing that sticks out about watching the film on Sia is his inept ability to manipulate his defender, forcing them to open their hips one way then punishing them with his quick and efficient cuts. He’s a smaller player who can play inside and out. His time playing defensive back has helped him playing offense, as he shows an ability to adjust according to his defender’s position helping him when stacking downfield. He’s an awesome route runner who stays tight and crisp throughout his stem, hardly telestrating his routes. Don’t let his size fool you, he has good awareness is always battling for better position to snag the ball out of the air.
These three wideouts should all receive big-time program offers so long as they continue to develop.
