Zamier played a key role in St Mary’s Class 4 State Championship run this past season, finishing with 70 tackles and six sacks. Collins is a stand-up edge rusher that is a very dominant pass rusher. He uses his speed to blow right by opposing offensive tackles off the edge. Once he shoots into the pocket, Collins does a great job of finishing at the quarterback. Against the run, Collins uses his high motor to run all over the field to get to the ball carrier. He has also shown the physicality to run straight through blocks on his way to the football. Zamier doesn’t currently hold any offers but should pick some up during his senior year as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

Zamier’s instincts & quickness shows slipping blockers and disrupting inside runs from a backside end alignment. Good strength and physicality are on display shedding offensive linemen with ease and bull rushing as a pass rusher. Zamier’s pass rushing traits show utilizing lateral acceleration and a strong rip to beat offensive tackles to the inside. Zamier’s closing speed shows in the run game beating linemen to the point of attack untouched. College coaches are excited to see how Zamier finishes a championship career in 2023.

Another defensive lineman for St. Mary’s that impressed on Friday was junior defensive end Zamier Collins Zamier Collins 6'0" | 235 lbs | DL St Marys South Side Catholic | 2024 State MO . Collins lived in the backfield on Friday night, using his speed at strength to blow by opposing offensive linemen put pressure on the quarterback. He showed the ability to come off the edge and shoot the inside gap, making him a very difficult assignment in pass protection. Collins also showed great awareness as a pass rusher as he batted down a pass on his way to the quarterback. Against the run, Collins showed the ability to read plays and get to the ball. Once he got to the ball carrier, he showed that he is a very physical tackler, forcing a tackle in this game. While he doesn’t currently hold any offers, Collins is definitely a name to watch over the next two seasons.
