A prospect who attends about just as many camps as I do is East Orange’s Zachary Concepcion Zachary Concepcion 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB East Orange | 2027 NJ . Now a senior, Concepcion showed that he has the arm strength and proper grip mechanics to pierce the wind on a go-ball. On another go-ball, he had outstanding ball placement where only his running back could make a play on it, as it landed flesh against his teammate’s fingers. Moreover, on an out route he had great ball placement so his teammates can catch, plant, and turn upfield. He can, however, stand to push the ball closer toward the sideline when his paired running back is working a wheel route. Concepcion was also one of only two quarterback prospects to stay into the event’s second session and he had elite accuracy in the red zone.

Zachary Concepcion Zachary Concepcion 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB East Orange | 2027 NJ put together a solid season and showed why he’s one of the more intriguing dual-threat quarterbacks in the state heading into the offseason. At 6’2”, 185 pounds, he brings the size and aggressiveness you want at the position, along with the ability to hurt defenses with both his arm and his legs.

Concepcion was at his best when plays broke down. He consistently created outside the pocket, extended drives, and got the ball into his playmakers’ hands. That playmaking ability helped push East Orange to a 9–0 start, and his confidence running the offense stood out throughout the year.

The next step is to be consistent as a passer. Improving his accuracy from snap to snap will be key as he enters his senior season. If Concepcion can build on what he showed both on the ground and through the air, he’s positioned to take another jump and solidify himself as a quarterback to know heading into next fall.

His poise and command of the offense stand out immediately. He knows where to go with the football, gets it out quickly, and doesn’t hesitate to attack tight windows.

What makes Concepcion intriguing is his willingness to take risks. He’s not afraid to challenge defenses and extend plays when necessary. That confidence should serve him well as he looks to take a significant leap in his third year. If he continues to develop, East Orange could be one of the state’s sleeper teams this fall.

The third sophomore on the list, Zachary Concepcion Zachary Concepcion 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB East Orange | 2027 NJ is in a position to leap into the spotlight in 2024. With not a ton of field experience thus far in his career, Zachary has done an exceptional job building up momentum in offseason training and camps. A true duel threat quarterback, Zachary has demonstrated great footwork not only in the pocket but also maneuvering outside of the pocket as well. I haven’t gotten the chance yet to see Zach take off with it, but I have a feeling that when the time comes defenses will have a tough time containing him.

Zach is another one of those powerful throwers that can launch the ball deep downfield and let is man run underneath it. The entire field is for Zach to throw to, as his field vision allows him to see everything unfold in front of him and anticipate where the defense and receivers will be. Zachary has been putting in a lot of work on the field and in the weight room this offseason, and I expect it all to pay off in 2024.
