McLean earned high praise from Coach Keel after receiving extra coaching all weekend and communicating well. His get off stood out along with Van Ruiten’s during DL work, and the competition had both at a high level going into the scrimmage. While the former was the heart, McLean has been the motor of the defense all week, making life hard for tackles on both sides of the line. He’s been one of the strongest DLs on the field and is athletic enough to standup and play an OLB role. Although he’s been mentioned in that 3-4 standup role for college recruiting purposes, he’s shown the ability to add size without sacrificing agility after breaking out for Interlake. McLean is fun to watch and could be a coach and fan favorite at any college he plays for.
