An experienced and effective 5A lineman from the 612 and Minneapolis Washburn High School, Yusuf measures in at 6’2.5 and 250 lbs. and showed off some good COD skills at December’s PRzMN Showcase, clocking a 4.75 short-shuttle and having a solid showing during 1-on-1s at the end of the session. Already named a captain for the Millers‘ 2023 campaign, Yusuf plays both OL and DL, but on the offensive side of the ball I like his strong base, active feet, persistent leg drive, and heavy hands in both run and pass support. He’s an effective zone blocker thanks to his lateral quickness and awareness and also has a knack for finishing defenders into the turf thanks to his nonstop leg drive and strength for his size. Yusuf put a hurtin’ on more than his fair share of opponents last fall and was a brickwall on the interior OL of the Millers. Big things coming next season!

  • I am sure there are not a ton of sophomore captains in Minnesota such as Minneapolis Washburn OL Yahya Yusuf Yahya Yusuf 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Washburn | 2025 State MN , who from a character standpoint, would check all my boxes if I was a college coach as a excellent locker room guy.
  • I’ll keep this bullet short, because I have already touched on it recently,  but I was very impressed with the frame Yahya came into our most recent Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase with as he certainly has worked his tail off in the weight room in the offseason developing his 6’2 260 pound frame and it certainly shows off on tape.
  • Yahya’s first clip of his sophomore tape, drives the defensive tackle into the next area code with all the great leverage and pad-level he gets from the jump.
  • If you want a OL/Center prospect that will always block until the job is finished or when the whistle blows, you can bet Yahya will be your O Linemen to do so. Certainly a Saturday’s prospect in my eyes. Yahya has fantastic grades too, with a 4.0 GPA.
