Wright has flashed as one of the most versatile defenders in the unsigned 2026 group. With tremendous closing speed, he can run down plays from the opposite sideline or chase down a back from behind. A true nickel/safety hybrid, he patrols the middle of the field with aggression and instinct- while being very comfortable in a robber role. Despite having the frame of a defensive back, he’s logged plenty of snaps at outside linebacker, showing toughness, a high motor, and the heart to play bigger than his size.

Wright is a versatile defender who can do so many things well at his position. He’s really consistent in coverage and has great ball skills he uses to track passes and force PBUs and INTs. Wright is also a trustworthy run defender who can fly downhill to deliver some huge hits to the ball carrier, eliminating big gains on the ground.

You can even see Wright’s value on special teams- he consistently finds and brings down the returner to put his defense in good starting field position. I’m excited to see what Wright can do in his senior year- he’s a well-rounded prospect with some really great traits.
