Xavier Smith Xavier Smith 5'8" | 155 lbs | QB East Side | 2026 State NJ put up some of the most impressive numbers for a sophomore in 2023. Throwing for 19 touchdowns and rushing for another 6, Xavier is quickly becoming one of those duel threat QBs that every opponent needs to be ready for weeks in advance.
While Xavier is one of the shorter QBs on the list, that doesn’t stop him from picking defenses apart with his precise throws and strong arm. Xavier can absolutely haul the ball downfield. Quick in his drop back, Xavier spring loads off of his back foot and can deliver the ball 50 yards downfield with ease. What makes Xavier most worrisome for opponents is his scrambling abilities and how he can always find a way to buy more time. Xavier is nimble in the pocket and escapes it when needed, and can then either deliver a throw on the run or take off with it downfield. Whether it’s a designed run or not, defenses will have a tough time containing Xavier and keeping him in check. Look out for when he gets into open space because Xavier is one of the most agile QBs you will come across in NJ.

One of the most prolific passers from the 2026 class a season ago, Xavier Smith Xavier Smith 5'8" | 155 lbs | QB East Side | 2026 State NJ is a QB demanding more attention. Throwing for 1275 yards and 19 touchdowns and rushing for another 6, Lamar is a duel threat QB in the truest sense. Not sure if it was by design or pure coincidence, but with the number 8 on Xavier’s jersey you can’t help but see glimpses of Lamar Jackson in his game. For Xavier, his stature does not matter because his raw talent and skills sets him apart from every opponent he goes up against. He is an extremely quick quarterback and delivers the ball with a ton of power behind it, giving him the ability to really stretch the ball deep downfield. With only 3 interceptions as a sophomore, Xavier is a smart, reliable passer that rarely puts his team in a bad position. Get some eyes on Xavier before it’s too late.

The Newark East Side quarterback threw for 1275 yards and 19 touchdowns, but just as impressively, ran for 347 yards and 6 touchdowns too. Xavier really displayed flashes of excellence last season as his mobility and fluidity made it very challenging for defenses to contain him. With a cannon of an arm as well, Xavier has the ability to outthrow the coverage and find his man deep downfield. Xavier will rise on the NJ rankings very quickly, with the possibility of becoming g a top 5 QB in the state very soon.
