Randerson is already showing he can get involved defensively as a freshman, recording 27 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 5 quarterback pressures. Those numbers show he’s finding ways to get into the backfield and make things difficult for opposing offenses. The six tackles for loss stand out, especially for a young player still getting used to the speed and physicality of high school football.

I got the chance to watch Xavier live at a Prep Redzone Next Camp, and he immediately showed traits that fit the linebacker position well at this stage.

Xavier plays with noticeable energy and is consistently around the football. He shows good instincts when reading plays in front of him and does a solid job reacting downhill when he identifies run action. There’s a natural aggressiveness to his game that shows up in how quickly he closes space.

In pursuit, he keeps his motor running and works to finish plays rather than just being in position. He’s still developing in terms of consistency with technique and block shedding, but the effort level and awareness are strong building blocks.

Xavier stood out during the one-on-one sessions at linebacker, showing a natural ability to read plays and react quickly. What really impressed was how well he took coaching — he listened closely to adjustments, applied feedback immediately, and improved his technique on the spot. His instincts, physicality, and willingness to learn made him a disruptive presence in every rep.

Xavier took home LB MVP after a dominant day leading the defense. He flew around the field with speed, precision, and aggression, consistently winning one-on-one matchups. His ability to read plays, stay in position, and react quickly made him a nightmare for ball carriers. Xavier showed excellent tackling technique, balance, and awareness, finishing plays with authority and control. Every drill highlighted his competitiveness and instincts, earning him well-deserved recognition as one of the top performers at the camp.
