Finney is a special player with the ball in his hands. Explosive runner after the catch, Finney finds another gear in the open field. He is a versatile weapon who can be used at many positions and creates mismatches with his agility. Finney shows great wiggle in congested spaces with fantastic initial burst in short areas. He evades defenders at a high rate but will also lower the shoulder displaying his physicality.
As a route runner he creates separation with nice footwork paired with tempo. He can hurt a defense at all levels and lets his speed and quickness speak for him. For his sophomore campaign, Finney racked up 720 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns on 51 catches and willing be looking to make an immediate impact for the Wildkat offense come fall.
Trey is a wide receiver heading into the season with a clear mindset to take his game to the next level and make a real impact on offense. He shows solid athletic ability, improving route running, and the confidence to compete for the football in key situations. On film, he’s capable of working both underneath and downfield, giving his offense a versatile option who can contribute in multiple areas of the passing game.
What stands out is his effort and growth—he continues to refine the details of his game while showing flashes of playmaking ability when the ball is in his hands. As he builds consistency and sharpens his timing with the quarterback, Trey has the tools to turn into a more complete receiver this season.

This upcoming athlete is turning heads already with his fluid route running ability and ball hog mentality at defensive back. In the past seasons, Trey has racked up 21 TD’s on offense, with an additional 6 interceptions and 2 returned for scores. I have had the honor to watch this young Lone Star prospect in action and he is only scratching the surface of his full potential. The work ethic is there, and with a solid foundation around him, he is only going to continue to make gains at alarming speeds. Speaking of speed, he is “Finney Fast.” Breaking records and setting new PR’s on the track is another passion that just fuels his performances on the football field as well. Once you see the back of his jersey, I highly recommend you save your energy for the next play because you’re not going to catch him. When it’s all said and down it will not come as a surprise to see him as one of the best all around talents in his class nationally. Nebraska and Arkansas St. obviously share the same sentiment as they extended offers in the past couple weeks.
