Nolen brings a powerful, well-rounded game to the defensive front, making an impact against the run and as a pass rusher. He maintains a strong base that allows him to anchor against blocks, hold his ground and clog running lanes. He can shed blockers with force or use finesse to free himself and locate the football.

His active hands make him extremely difficult to contain. Nolen swipes with impressive quickness and consistently follows his initial move with an effective counter. On passing downs, he displays an explosive get-off and the bend needed to turn the corner. He does an excellent job of knocking away the hands of opposing tackles and creating a direct path to the quarterback.

Nolen is physical at the point of attack and plays with tremendous ferocity. He has recorded 36 tackles, 9 TFLs, 6 sacks and 20 quarterback hurries. When given an opportunity to take over, he can disrupt the rhythm of an entire offense.

Waylan does a good job playing with leverage off the edge and finding ways to get underneath blockers. He keeps his rush moving forward and does a nice job working toward the quarterback once he gains an advantage. Against the run, Waylan shows good awareness of where the ball is going and works to close the running lane.

Waylan brings a rugged, physical style to the edge and plays with a chip on his shoulder. On film, he’s aggressive from the snap, attacking blockers with heavy hands and forcing early contact. He doesn’t wait to read — he initiates. That approach allows him to disrupt rhythm and make offensive linemen uncomfortable right away.
