Harmon is a true man-up corner out of Conroe with great twitch and the ability to flip his hips and run at the line of scrimmage. He also demonstrates polished footwork and strong use of the hands to keep defenders outside of him. Harmon does a stellar job of tracking the balls and using his length to knock passes away. A slim but lengthy CB, Harmon plays physical and instinctive at the line and over the middle of the field. He demonstrates patience and technique in the run game as well, constantly shedding blocks to make tackles in the second level. Xavier utilized these attributes to lead the district in pass breakups. Expect steady improvement across the field, and many of those PBUs to turn into INTs in 2025. Harmon recently committed to the Stanford Cardinal.
Harmon’s length and versatility make him a valuable prospect in multiple schemes. He can play press man or drop coverage, shows strong tackling technique, and flashes closing speed when tracking the ball. His ability to play both safety and corner has drawn national attention. He recently narrowed his recruitment down to eight schools: SMU, TCU, Arkansas, Utah, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, and Stanford.
When you see Harmon in person he passes the eye test. He has a long, lean build at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. He has an extended reach that he uses to get hands on receivers at the line of scrimmage to get them off their axis. His footwork is superb and he has great hips that enable him to stay in phase with receivers in close coverage. He has the versatility to line up at cornerback or safety and be effective. From his safety position he has the speed to cover ground on the back end and he comes up in run support bringing physicality when he fills the hole. I have had the chance to see Harmon up close in a 7v7 setting and he showed that he has the skill set to play at a high level. He has seen offers come in from the likes of LSU, TCU, Arizona and Michigan State.
Harmon is a standout talent with all the makings of an elite cornerback. Standing at 6’2″ with a lean, athletic frame, coupled with clean footwork and flexible hips, he possesses the physical attributes necessary to excel in the secondary. His proficiency in man coverage shows a natural ability to shut down opposing receivers. As a newcomer to the rankings, he undoubtedly has the potential to make a significant impact and establish himself as a dominant force in the defensive backfield.
