Past Analysis: Xavier is an extremely hard-hitting edge rusher that is quick to get off the line and puts lots of pressure on the quarterback. The junior led the state in defensive sacks and also forced a few fumbles. What is remarkable about Xavier’s playstyle is that he creates numerous ways to cut through the opposing offensive line. He can break off opposing guards with an inside-n-out or uses his great hand skills to push off the guard to get to the quarterback. All of those ways were effective enough for him to lead the entire state 2A class in sacks. His strength should not be questioned either as he can throw down ball carriers with only his upper body. I expect Xavier to continue balling out for Beechwood in his junior season.

Current Analysis: My previous initial thoughts on Xavier Campbell Xavier Campbell 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB Beechwood | 2024 State KY ‘s talent remain perfectly accurate, and he has shown to even improve on the stature I previously gave him last summer. The 6’0, 245lb DL prospect from Beechwood High School had another terrific season, as he ended up tying for 1st in state class 2A ball in total sacks sitting at 11 in 15 games played. Xavier possesses some of the most unique techniques to get his way past the offensive line to put pressure on the quarterback. As many would say, Campbell has continued to “add to his bag” by slipping past offensive tackles with spin moves, pushing his way past them, and even juking his way past some by faking them out in a certain direction. Along with this, Campbell is pretty quick for his size and position compared to a lot of the other higher-end defensive linemen prospects in the state. He will continue to be a problem for one more year of high school ball, but I believe his journey will not end there. With recent offers and more added collegiate interest from recruits, he most certainly will be playing at the next level somewhere in 2024.

Beechwood hasn’t posted their full defensive statistics from the 2022 season but Campbell did finish the year with 11 sacks. Campbell plays with a very high motor off the edge, showing the speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles while also showing the strength to fight through blocks on his way to the quarterback. Once he gets to the quarterback, Campbell does a great job of exploding through contact to finish the sack. Against the run, Campbell does a great job of reading the play and has shown the ability to run sideline to sideline to make tackles in the open field. Xavier doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way going into his senior season as he has been receiving a nice amount of college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.

He played a key role at defensive end during Beechwood’s state title run. Campbell is a very dangerous pass rusher that uses his speed and pass rush moves to win off the edge. He also has an explosive first step and plays with a high motor, making it very difficult for opposing offensive tackles to slow him down. Campbell is constantly working to get to the quarterback and does a great job of finishing the sack once he gets to the passer. Against the run, Campbell has shown the ability to run all over the field to put himself in a position to make a play and he is a very reliable open field tackler. Xavier doesn’t currently hold any official offers but I expect some to come his way soon as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level and has been receiving college interest.

Starting off my 2A All-State defense, I have junior defensive end Xavier Campbell Xavier Campbell 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB Beechwood | 2024 State KY from Beechwood. Campbell stood out to me in my off-season evaluations this past summer and has continued to impress this year, accounting for 9.5 sacks in the regular season. Xavier plays with a very high motor, showing an explosive first step off the line of scrimmage and using his speed to blow right by offensive tackles. He also shows the pass rush moves to defeat blocks and strength to run right through them. Campbell keeps working until he gets to the quarterback and runs his feet through contact once he gets there to secure the sack. Against the run, Campbell shows the ability to get to the ball all over the field to make tackles in the open field. While Xavier doesn’t currently hold any offers, I expect some to come for him going into his senior year as he has received a solid amount of college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.

A more under-the-radar defensive line prospect that I have been very high on for a while now is Xavier Campbell Xavier Campbell 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB Beechwood | 2024 State KY . Campbell lines up at defensive end and plays with a very high motor. He has a very explosive first step and uses his speed to run right by opposing offensive tackles as a pass rusher. Campbell has also shown the ability to work through blocks on his way to the quarterback. Against the run, Campbell reads the play well and does a great job of taking the right angles to get to the ball. Xavier doesn’t currently hold any offers but they will come over the next two seasons as he has received quite a bit of college interest and has the skill set to be a successful defensive end at the next level.

In the run game, he does a great job of finding the ball and showing great effort to make plays all over the field. While he doesn’t currently hold any offers, I expect them to come soon as he has the potential to be a very good player at the next level.
