A 2026 DL that has generated a good chunk of my attention this summer at camps is La Crosse Aquinas 2026

as that was again the case at SDSU. I’ve noticed Will has grown quickly this summer with the speed and effiency of his hands showing the mix of strength and quicker releases off his sheds. Another skill set that grew to me at SDSU, is his fluidity with his movement as I thought he’s gotten more sudden in such a short time. Super surprised how lightly Will’s been recruited this summer as the tools are growing in his skillset box.

Will is an athlete that is on the rise following a highly productive junior season. He plays both OL and DL, but today we focus on his defensive play. Will put up an outstanding stat line in 2024. He put up an insane 74 tackles, with 21 TFLs, and 6 sacks. On tape Will is creating those stats with next level traits. He has power to hold the line of scrimmage, shed the block and make the stop. Or you will see him set the edge vs the outside run and again shed with those strong hands and flash his burst to close and make the tackle. Pairing with that violent power is quick twitch lateral agility and pass rush moves to beat OL with quickness. That speed especially flashes when he lines up on the interior. Flottmeyer is able to win so many different ways and it translated to big numbers in 2024. A big summer is ahead for him.

The junior OL is doing a great job of developing his talent and his frame. Will now checks in at 240 lbs and is looking more and more like a next level prospect. There is still plenty of room to fill out at the next level. I really enjoy watching Flottmeyer in the trenches. He brings athleticism to the position. Whether it is pulling, getting to the second level, or simply using that quickness to get leverage and positioning on the DL in front of him. The junior is quick on his feet and has the body control to stay in a position where he can use his power at any moment in the play. He doesn’t have to reset himself to attack. That power is also improving from last season as well. The arrow is pointing up for the 2026 OL.

checks in at 6’3″ 220 lbs and already has varsity experience under his belt. He has shown to be a very effective puller from the guard position. Will closes quickly, and has the strength to get a push and open up holes for his RBs. The range to get across the formation is only part of his game though. Flottmeyer has shown the strength to be able to fire out of his stance, get underneath his man, and bulldoze off the line or down the formation. Aquinas has done well developing high quality OL prospects. I will following closely to see if Will is next up.
