Wes Dowell Wes Dowell RB South Laurel | 2026 KY is a player who has jumped onto my radar with a strong start to his senior year. Dowell is a downhill runner out of the backfield who explodes out of his stance and uses his speed to hit the running lane with a sense of urgency then run away from the defense for big gains. Through five games, he leads his team in rushing with 61 carries for 414 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has also shown the ability to line up on the outside at receiver and use his speed to create separation in the passing game. Dowell has caught 24 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns so far this season. Wes’ 14 total touchdowns has him sitting as the leading scorer in 5A as we head into Week 6. He has also made an impact on defense this season, accounting for five tackles and one interception so far. Dowell doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to continue to keep an eye on throughout the rest of his senior season.
