Harty flies under the radar despite being one of the better linebackers in the conference. He missed time in the middle of last season and came back a completely different player, with 33 tackles and three for loss in his final four games. Expect a “breakout” year from the junior in the sense that he could hit the mainstream radar with a big season.
Wyatt Wade-Harty is one of the top linebacker prospects in the area for the Class of 2028. Averaging seven tackles per game last season, he consistently showed his ability to make plays all over the field. A true sideline-to-sideline defender, Wade-Harty plays with outstanding range, speed, and instincts. His fast-flowing style allows him to quickly diagnose plays and arrive at the football, making him one of the rising defensive stars to watch this season.
Since he’s not the biggest linebacker you’ll ever find, Harty has to rely on his instincts. He’s honed that part of his game as well as anyone in the state. He seems to know where a play is going before it develops. In fact, sometimes he diagnoses the play before the snap. Then he attacks, and his closing speed is excellent.
Harty spent most of the year thriving on the junior varsity team, but made it up for a few games to the varsity level. As he continues to grow, he’s adding more speed and quickness to his game to go along with a willingness to make plays between the tackles. He’s already trusted to adjust his defense pre-snap and that I.Q. is going to impress college coaches.
Wade Wyatt Harty is a sturdy linebacker who already shows maturity on and off the field. He’s a smart player who is able to diagnose plays and get into position quickly. A big hitter, Harty shows on film the ability to stonewall running backs and stop receivers in their tracks when they come across the middle. As he continues to get bigger and faster, he’s certainly a young linebacker to keep an eye on.
The effort that Hardy plays with is very admirable and he’s a kid that any program would want in their locker room. Not the biggest, fastest or most athletic, but he’s a prospect that you can count on to give 110% and lead by example. Has bounced between defensive tackle, defensive end and middle linebacker but looks to have found a home as a middle linebacker in his final year of youth ball for the Triad Elite Ducks.
