Petzold who plays on both sides of the ball is a thick lineman prospect who has some of the most natural strength of any player in New York. Petzold, who plays on the interior on both sides of the ball consistently is the quickest off the ball and his strength in his hands to punch guys back and have effective initial contact makes him a disrupter on defense and helps open up lanes on offense. Petzold’s tape on both sides of the ball is impressive enough that I think he could play on either side of the ball at the next level.

The Martone award winner (given to Nassau County’s top lineman) was as advertised all year long. His strength was something special and he moved extremely well at 315 pounds. He was a pancake machine on offense, but what he did on defense helped change games this season. Petzold received a D1 offer from Wagner after a terrific final season with Plainedge.

Vincent Petzold Vincent Petzold 6'1" | 295 lbs | OL Plainedge | 2024 State NY is one of the most athletic offensive lineman in New York. Petzold plays center where his ability to move and block in space is showcased through his ability to get to the second level and take on linebackers and safeties. Petzold is a great finisher and can get defenders to the ground using a strong lower body and violent hands. Petzold does a really good job of resetting his feet and moving off his initial block to take on a second block in the ran game. In pass protection, Petzold does a great job of finding work at the center position and has the power to stalemate and finish defensive tackles at the LOS. Overall, Petzold is one of the best interior offensive lineman in New York and certainly the best Center prospect in the state.

Petzold has incredible fundamentals and his strength on the inside is the best I have seen from a interior offensive lineman. Petzold does a really good job of taking his blocks to the ground and not letting defenders get off of his blocks as the play develops past the line of scrimmage. Petzold should be one of the most sought after lineman this summer and fall and should perform really well on the summer camp circuit.
