is a wide receiver prospect specializing in his unique running skills and astounding ability to create separation from opposing defenders after the reception. Wagers, a 6’0 160lb 2024 grad from Clay County High School had a great 2022 campaign as he caught 53 receptions for 889 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns in 11 games played (16.8 receiving yards per catch; 81 receiving yards per game). Tyson is one of the best at earning yardage once he receives the football. The bulk of Wagers’ receiving yards came after the catch, and the reason for this is his flawless ability to create separation from opposing defenders. Like a running back, Wagers uses his outstanding lateral motion and crafty moves to make cuts to get past defenders. Since he has excelled at running with the ball, he has been a perfect asset for receiver-run routes and WR screenplays. Along with this is the fact that Wagers is one of the most successful kick/punt returners in the state. Tyson’s superior reflexes, vision, and reaction timing enable him to know where to attack the gaps before accelerating once he receives the kick. Moreover, this enables Tyson to use his exceptional running skills to cut through the defense, gain big yardage for his offense, and even score at times. As of now, no information has been released regarding collegiate interest/offers, but this should change by the end of this upcoming 2023 season. Tyson is most certainly a next-level talent to watch for.

One of the more exciting and dangerous receivers to play in this region recently, Wagers will return for his senior season after establishing himself as a player with the ability to damage opponents in a number of ways, whether offensively, defensively or on special teams. In his 11 games in 2022, he collected 53 receptions for 889 yards and 12 touchdowns while also returning 4 kickoffs for touchdowns and even returning one defensive interception 68 yards for a score. In total, he averaged almost 10 points per game and ended his junior season as the #3 receiver in Kentucky’s Class AAAA, and given his speed, elusiveness and vision in the open field, he certainly appears capable of matching or surpassing those numbers this fall. Whether catching the ball over his shoulder, behind the line of scrimmage or across the middle of the field, his motions are smooth and appear effortlessly natural. Meanwhile, his ability to quickly/efficiently change his direction without losing any discernible speed makes him an exceptionally effective route runner and a threat to break plays from anywhere on the field.

Tyson is another talented receiver who can beat you with his crafty moves running the ball and his speed. The junior finished his 2022 season catching 53 receptions for 889 receiving yards & 13 receiving touchdowns in 11 games played for Clay County High School. Tyson is one of the more gifted kick returners in the state, and he applies his skills in returning kicks to the wide receiver position. The reason Tyson is so dominant returning touchdowns is due to his vision & abruptly sharp cuts when dashing around defenders. Wagers can make a quick decision on where he intends to run the ball and use his lightning-fast footwork to create a filthy move on a defender to blow by them. Along with that, he sees the field like a running back in which he can quickly identify running lanes while simultaneously avoiding tackles from Dbs. Tyson has become one of the best receivers at gaining yards after the catch. As of now, Tyson has a year left for Clay County and has not received any collegiate offers. But from his performance during the 2022 season, he has proven he can be a valuable piece to a skillful college football offense.

is a player that has jumped onto my radar this season. He finished his junior regular season as Clay County’s leading receiver with 50 receptions for 854 yards and 11 touchdowns. Wagers is a dangerous deep threat with the speed to create separation and the ability to look the ball in over his shoulder to make catches without breaking stride. He is also a smooth route runner and has very reliable hands, even when making catches through contact. Tyson doesn’t currently hold any offers but will be a player to watch going into his final season as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
