After looking at a few significant athlete prospects, it’s time to return to the offensive side of the ball to take a look at some intriguing rising seniors that are set to return to the fold this upcoming season. Here’s my list of the top 2024 wide receiver prospects to watch closely this fall.
Brady Bentley Brady Bentley 5'7" | 165 lbs | WR Shelby Valley | 2024 State KY , a 5-foot-7, 165-pound wide receiver out of Shelby Valley High School, was a gamechanger for the Wildcats’ offense during his junior season of high school football this past year. In addition to being the eighth-best wide receiver in the Bluegrass State, Bentley also led his team’s receiving core, hauling in 57 receptions for 1,208 yards and 13 touchdowns. What makes Bentley such an efficient receiver is his overall speed and size as he can break tackles, blast past defenses and catch deep passes down the field.
Easton Barlow Easton Barlow 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Bowling Green | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 165-pound wide receiver out of Bowling Green High School, made a huge splash on the offensive side of the ball during his junior season with the Purples. In addition to becoming one of the best wide receivers in the state of Kentucky, Barlow also led all receivers on his team last year, hauling in 52 receptions for 1,008 yards and 12 touchdowns. Barlow has great size, speed and toughness as he can outrun the defense and haul in deep passes despite intense pressure from the defense.
Shaun Boykins Shaun Boykins 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR North Hardin | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-1, 192-pound wide receiver out of North Hardin High School, gave the Trojans a huge offensive edge during his junior stint last year. In addition to leading his team in receptions, Boykins finished the season as the 11th best receiver in the state, recording 56 receptions for 897 yards and 10 touchdowns. In addition to great size and speed, what makes Boykins so efficient on the offensive end is his overall game awareness and ability to consistently break tackles.
Tyson Wagers Tyson Wagers 6'0" | 155 lbs | WR Clay County | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 160-pound wide receiver out of Clay County High School, was one of the most efficient offensive talents on the Tigers’ roster last season. During his junior stint, Wagers led the entire receiving core on the season, hauling in 53 receptions for 889 yards and 12 touchdowns. In addition to his great size and speed, what makes Wagers so successful on offense is his ability to haul in tough passes anywhere on the field and consistently shake defensive pressure.
Malachi Embers Malachi Embers 5'9" | 150 lbs | WR Carroll County | 2024 State KY , a 5-foot-10, 160-pound wide receiver out of the Christian Academy of Louisville, made more than a few significant offensive contributions during his junior stint with the Centurions. Last year, Embers hauled in 10 receptions for 186 yards and five touchdowns. In addition to the great size, speed and toughness he contributes, Embers also adds valuable game knowledge and awareness as his routes put more than a few touchdowns on the board.
Carson Class Carson Class 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Highlands | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 185-pound wide receiver out of Highlands High School, was one of the more explosive offensive weapons on the Bluebirds’ roster during his junior season of high school football. Last year, Class was the second-best wide receiver on the roster, hauling in 25 receptions for 460 yards and eight touchdowns. What makes Class such a reliable receiver is his size, speed and ability to make tough passes while under intense defensive pressure.
Max Gainey Max Gainey 5'9" | 155 lbs | WR Louisville Male | 2024 State KY , a 5-foot-9, 150-pound wide receiver out of Male High School, made a huge impact on the offensive side of the ball during his junior year of high school football with the Bulldogs. In addition to the challenge he provides defenses with his size and speed, Gainey has outstanding toughness and durability down the stretch as he can haul in passes anywhere on the field and break tackles to keep the play alive.
