Currently listed at 6’1, 210 pounds, but his updated height has him standing 6’2. That additional inch matters, especially considering his positional projection and current recruitment. He is ranked among the top 300 juniors in Pennsylvania and has done a great job periodically posting game tape from Week 1 through Week 7.

His production has been ridiculous at times. In Week 1 alone, he carried the football 17 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns, caught five passes for 105 yards and another score, and recorded 12 tackles and a sack defensively. All of that came in a single game.

It makes sense why he identifies himself as a two way athlete. We currently have him ranked as a linebacker and running back, although we will eventually need to determine which position gives him the best opportunity to succeed at the collegiate level.

What impresses me most is the consistency of his production. He is coming off another performance in which he carried the football 25 times for nearly 200 yards, and he continues to contribute as a pass catcher while accumulating significant tackle numbers on defense.

I wouldn’t be nearly as enthusiastic about his two way ability if there wasn’t tangible evidence that he could sustain this type of workload. He is functioning as a legitimate running back, receiving threat and impact defender, all while maintaining that production throughout the season.

I initially wanted to encourage him to put together a complete midseason tape as soon as possible. However, after checking his Hudl, I discovered he had already done exactly that, posting a six minute highlight reel just a day ago.

His tape opens with him operating at running back, taking a handoff out of a shotgun formation. He quickly outpaces his fullback, identifies a rushing lane outside the tackle and accelerates through the opening. Once he reaches the second level, he outruns two defensive backs who appear to have clear angles to bring him down.

That is impressive speed from a prospect with his physical profile. At 6’2, 210 pounds, he moves considerably better than some might expect, especially once he gets into the open field.

He does have a somewhat upright running style, which could lead college coaches to immediately project him to the defensive side of the football. I understand that perspective, but his offensive production is simply too substantial to dismiss.

He has a natural ability to identify rushing lanes, enough acceleration to create explosive plays and legitimate receiving production that demonstrates he can contribute beyond traditional handoffs. Those are valuable traits regardless of where he ultimately ends up playing.

That said, his linebacker reps have me feeling like he is a Division I caliber prospect on defense. His combination of size, physicality and overall athletic ability gives him a strong foundation at the position, while his offensive production only adds to his value as a recruit.

I also want to emphasize that I have seen him compete against opponents outside of his usual conference. That exposure makes me even more comfortable with his ability to produce against different levels of competition. I don’t want his evaluation limited simply because of the teams he faces on a weekly basis.

There is a lot to like about this prospect. His improved height, sustained two way production, offensive versatility and potential as a Division I linebacker all suggest that he might deserve a higher ranking than his current top 300 placement.

He is making a strong case for an elevation, and I’m excited to see how he finishes his junior season.
