A senior coming out of Durango, Tyler Harms Tyler Harms 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Durango | 2024 State CO led his team to a 9-2 record earning a playoff berth. Over the past season, Harms threw for 2198 yards for 23 TD, 4 INT with a 61.5% completion rate. On the ground, he rushed for 107 times for 594 yards and 6 TDs. Prototypical size for a QB at 6’4 208 pounds. Harms has a very strong arm and can bomb the football down the field with ease. He has a very good release. A quick flick of his wrist, and the ball is launched. This allows him to fit the ball into tight spaces deep down the field. Tyler has good placement skills. The “go” route was used a lot in the Durango offense. Harms would throw the ball in front of the WR. Doing so allowed the wideout to keep his speed and get the touchdown. He has some beautiful over the shoulder throws with perfect timing ending with a TD. Harms will throw above the WRs, letting them use their athletic ability to go up and come down with the catch. Tyler has good accuracy at all 3 levels, however his deep ball accuracy stands above the rest. Very good deep ball accuracy. Harms has good throw on the run skills. He’s able to roll out left and throw accurately on the run. If nobody is open, he will check it down to the RB for easy yards. He is patient for WR’s to get separation on routes as well. Under pressure, Harms either stays poised and makes the correct read. Or he will scramble out for the first down. He has good speed and acceleration to make the defense pay. When he runs, he displays good vision going through the holes. Will put his shoulder down to create extra yardage. Harms is a competitor and it’s shown throughout his playstyle. In the playoff game vs Lutheran, he threw a couple of interceptions. He would bounce back the next drive following each pick, and lead his team down the field to score. Durango ended up losing, but the grit shown by the team and by Harms stood out.
