Expert Analysis
Brian Jerzak | Prep Redzone Scout
Quickness and speed – literally and physically – separates Brooks from the competition. He has great speed and exceptional quickness coming out of his breaks as a wide receiver. Once he gets the ball in space, good luck with getting your hands on him. That vision in the open field makes him one of the most dangerous punt returners coming back in 2024. He makes up for his lack of length by adjusting well to deep balls. Brooks will line up wide and in the slot. He will occasionally take a jet sweep handoff, taking advantage of his speed to the corner.

With All-American bloodlines, it’s no surprise that 2025 Park Center WR TyJohn Brooks would begin posting eye-popping numbers. Brooks had a big day vs. Cambridge-Isanti last Friday and finished his night with 4 receptions for 125 yards and 2 TDs as well as 236 all-purpose yards.

The younger brother of former All-NSIC First Team and AFCA All-American Second Team DB Ty’Shonan Brooks, also a Park Center grad, 2025er TyJohn is going into his upperclassman era with the Pirates and is rocking on the offensive side of the ball as of right now. Explosive with the ball in his hands as either a wideout or kick returner, Brooks is good at creating separation at any point throughout the route and is especially dangerous when a play breaks down and he can improvise. Can cut on a dime, plays the ball well in the air, and uses his quickness to make defenders miss. The athleticism brought to the forefront by Ty’Shonan’s success seems to be present and thriving in his younger brother.
