A recently-discovered 2028 on breakout watch, Park Center’s Andre Nelson showed up and showed out at the recent PRZMN Spring Showcase. Nelson put together a strong performance during both testing and 1v1s, and after he measured in at 5’8, 151 lbs. with 9″ hands, he clocked a 4.70 laser 40, 4.38 shuttle, and 8’6 broad. Afterwards, Nelson was shifty, sudden, and productive in 1v1s against quality defensive back competition, and he’s sweetened the pot and put a bigger spotlight on his potential breakout watch after some of the track times he’s posted this spring.

Nelson has clocked PRs of an 11.48 100M, 23.82 200M this outdoor track and field season with Park Center, building on what has been a strong sophomore 7v7 season with MN Grind 7v7, and it’s an easy bet to put Nelson on breakout watch as he inches closer and closer to his junior season with the Pirates in 2026. I smell some future varsity production!

An assuming ankle-breaker and separation-creator as a wideout and route runner, Nelson popped off a 4.70 40, 4.38 shuttle, and 8’6 broad at 5’8, 151 lbs. and with 9″ hands. To sweeten the pot, Nelson also told me he’s clocked as fast as a 11.5 100M, a great time for a rising junior skills player. Additionally, Nelson was productive and rose to the competition’s occasion during 1v1s. Quick and sudden at the top of the route and in his releases, Nelson showed a good overall command of the route tree, and he did a great job of beating and stacking DBs and forcing them into bad body positions or to overextend, where he could quickly break free in his cuts or when playing the ball. Many 1v1 wins followed Nelson lining up at the LOS. Can’t wait to get this kid on the ranking’s Big Board!

A very recent addition to our system, Nelson immediately caught our eye with a strong 4.7 40 yard dash time along with a 4.38 shuttle time. That speed won many of Nelson’s reps during the 1-on-1 sessions, being able to burn defenders on a regular basis while also showing strong footwork and great reach to flash a stellar catch radius that spans beyond what his size suggests. Nelson should see himself propel into our rankings very soon and as he enters his junior season, Nelson should likely start emerging within the varsity lineup for the Pirates’ offense.
