Austin does a great job of winning one-on-one, jump-ball situations in the end zone. Like McBride, he can win contested catches and displays excellent hands in traffic, coming down with the ball despite multiple defenders around him.

Ty had a great Sophomore season in 2023. His very good play was a bright spot in the 0-10 season of the Walnut Hills Eagles. He lines up at both outside WR positions. He displays very good play speed as he gets behind the CB on go routes. He tracks the ball well in the air before showing very good hands as he makes the catch. He is excellent in contested catch situations as he does a great job of boxing out the CB before catching the ball at its highest point. He exhibits great mental toughness as he rises to the occasion in the redzone.
