Your undisputed Linebacker MVP, Centennial’s Tristan Melquist Tristan Melquist 6'3" | 200 lbs | LB Centennial | 2027 State MN checked every box you could ask for at the PRZMN Spring Showcase. Coming in at a legit 6’3, 211 lbs. and owning a 6’2 wingspan and 9.25″ hands, Melquist was a First Team All-Eye Test selection who also happened to be a great athlete, popping off a 4.9 laser 40, 4.50 shuttle, and 9’8″ broad jump, and he was a First-In-Line competitor during drill work and a disruptive force in coverage during 1v1s. Melquist was physical throughout a rep and at the catch point, showed off great short-area quickness, especially at the top of the route, and was technically-sound and comfortable in space. Coaches were raving about the kid, who NSIC coaches should be all over in this loaded 2027 MN LB class. Going to be a big summer for the Centennial Cougars‘ product!

Taking the reigns of our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase linebacker MVP, is a prospect that I really liked the development I saw on Saturday in Plymouth in Centennial’s Tristan Melqust. Tristan is one that jumped onto my radar quickly has he was surely one of the most wirey linebackers we saw in attendace that had a quite impressive first step for 6’3 215 pounds which is an absoulute match for the next-level when it comes down to the linebacker position. The length that you see in his 6’5 wingspan was well-noted on Saturday, as Tristan could utilize that to not only get off blocks even quicker, but also showed off what a work-horse he is with his hands and motor. He doesn’t have his first offer yet, but in my eye he surely said very soon.
