Notes: Genuinely a really good blitzer. Makes himself slippery to get through the traffic, but keeps his head up and hits with force. As a playcaller, IDK how you don’t blitz this guy on 98% of his snaps, it’s seemingly that effective. Really impressive for a kid who isn’t the biggest.

Strengths: A great blitzer: too agile for linemen, too strong for backs. Such quick reactions in the passing game. He reads the QB almost like a DB to be able to start heading towards the ball before the QB is halfway through his release.

Questions / Next Looks: Would just like to see more passing reps on the film honestly; the couple I’ve seen are good, but hard to know if it was a one-time thing or not. Not the biggest. And even though it doesn’t affect his play, clearly, it’ll still matter to some.

Torres has been a difference maker in the strong Centennial defense for several years and is building on that as a junior with 8.5 sacks in addition to his 46 tackles. Plays much bigger than his 5’10” 180 lb. frame he’s smart, instinctive, and highly productive. He’s quick to diagnose the play and react to his reads. His fast trigger and downhill playing style puts himself in position to make game changing plays. Coming from his OLB as a blitzer, he’s able to time out his breaks and shoot gaps before blockers can get to the spot allowing him to be a playmaker behind the LOS.

Torres is a highly productive and instinctive LB who consistently finds ways to impact the game despite not having the ideal frame for the position. As a sophomore, he logged 109 total tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks demonstrating his activity level and ability to finish plays behind the LOS. Smart and savvy defender that is quick to diagnose, trusts his reads, and triggers without hesitation. Athletically he shows good lateral mobility and change of direction to redirect and close on the ball. Good burst working downhill and possesses the range to make plays all over the field. Strong finisher who secures tackles in the open field and limits yards after contact with good wrap up technique. Will continue to be defensive leader for Centennial over the next two seasons.

Torres is an impact defender and attacking LB that plays much bigger than his frame. 109 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 8 sacks as a sophomore demonstrating his production and effectiveness. High football IQ, he brings great instincts and anticipation to read and react quickly to developing plays. Shows good change of direction with the ability to plant and drive to the ball and close space in a hurry. Spatial awareness is a strength, knowing where his threats are, taking efficient angles, and limiting wasted movement in pursuit. Whether triggering downhill or working in space, he’s a reliable and sure tackler in the open field who finishes the play and rarely lets ball carriers escape.
