Wolpert exemplifies a playmaker. In his junior film, he demonstrated everything from taking a deep post to the house, mossing two defenders for a catch, and blocking on the boundary to help his teammates reach the end zone. Wolpert possesses incredible speed down the field and utilizes his deep threat ability to create space for himself in the short and intermediate passing game.

Wolpert is a playmaking wide receiver for the Golden Bears. Wolpert is a polished route runner who also possesses the speed to run by defenders. He shows good ball skills and ability to adjust on the deep ball. On his shorter routes he does a great job at accelerating and running at his man forcing them to respect his deep speed and then breaking off his routes to create excellent separation. Some wide receivers just have a feel and an understanding for how to use leverage to create separation and Wolpert is one of those guys. Add into that plus speed and athleticism and he’s a tough player for opposing defensive backs to deal with. In the run game Trent is a willing and aggressive blocker. I’d be very surprised if this talented junior did not begin to pick up some offers this offseason.

Trent had a great Sophomore season in 2023. He had 47 receptions for 651 yds (13.8 ypc) and 5 TD. His great play helped the Upper Arlington Golden Bears to an 11 win season where they advanced to the Division I Quarterfinals and averaged 24.4 points per game. He lines up at both outside WR positions. He is quick off the LOS and shows good hip fluidity as he separates on a slant route. He possesses great hands as he catches the ball with his hands away from his body. After the catch is made, he uses his very good play speed to outrun all defenders on a long TD reception.

Wolpert announced this offseason that he intends to transfer to Upper Arlington for his sophomore and playing football for the Golden Bears. He had a really strong Freshman season for the Teays Valley varsity team, where he finished with 51 receptions and 660 yards and 5 TD’s. At 6’1 175 Wolpert has great length for a freshman receiver. He’s a very polished route runner for his age. He tracks the deep ball well and has good ball skills. He’s also not afraid to go over the middle and make contested catches. I’m interested to see how he continues to develop on a new team, in a new offensive system, and against D1 competition.
