is pound-for-pound one of the top defensive backs in this class and plays much above his listed 5’9 150 size.
Tanner has seen reps at both corner and safety this season and can execute well at both positions. Although he’s giving up quite a size advantage on most wideouts, Tanner is a relentless and fearless DB who is quite physical for his stature. He does a great job shedding blocks when not in coverage to play the run or short passes and is a willing defender in run defense. Tanner is very quick both laterally and vertically, has very fluid hips, and has good change of direction ability. He’ll also compete for jump balls and does a great job high-pointing passes even as a smaller DB. His knack for the ball should have more D2 programs overlooking his size as the ability is clearly there.

may be undersized at 5’9 150, he’s one of the more technically sound defensive backs in the 2025 class. You aren’t going to find many corners his size that are trusted to play press man coverage but Tanner plays above his size at a high level. Tanner is a really good athlete who not only flashes it at corner but also does so on special teams as a returner. He does a nice job playing the ball and attacking against bigger receivers. Tanner has good recovery speed in coverage and is quick enough to play the ball if a receiver gets a step on him. Size limits his ceiling as a prospect but nothing about his game suggests he lets that hinder or hurt him. I wouldn’t recommend overlooking him because of that and will continue beating the drum that he’s one of the best defensive backs in the 2025 class and in the state.

. Tanner is someone we identified in the offseason and really impressed in his sophomore film. He is very good in press-man coverage but could be more physical when he jams at the line of scrimmage. Tanner is a smaller corner at a listed 5’8 150 but he is a very fluid athlete. He does a really nice job of running step for step with receivers and flipping his hips when needed. Tanner also does a great job turning his head to look for the ball while still maintaining his speed and sticking to the receiver. He’s one of the best man-to-man corners that I’ve evaluated this year and if he were a little bit bigger I think he would have D1 potential.

is a speedy little 2025 defensive back for the Winfield Generals that put together a nice sophomore campaign. At 5’8 150 he needs to continue adding weight and getting stronger but Tanner didn’t let that stop him from matching up physically last season. He is super quick and fast and performed very well in pass coverage as a young defensive back. Tanners closes and breaks on balls very well and showed he’s physical when breaking up a pass. Even as a smaller DB, Tanner tackled well and did a nice job of going low and wrapping up bigger athletes than him. The future is very bright for this rising junior and a name that will likely enter our 2025 rankings in the next update.
