A top 250 Pennsylvania junior currently ranked among the top 30 wide receivers in the 2028 class. His previous measurables were somewhat underwhelming, with our site listing him at 5’10, 135 pounds. Fortunately, those numbers are outdated, as he is now listed at 6’0, 165 pounds. That is a substantial improvement, adding two inches in height and 30 pounds to his frame since our last update. He also carries a 3.0 GPA and competes in basketball and track at Hopewell High School, participating in the 100 meter dash and 4×100 relay. Although we currently rank him as a wide receiver, I could also envision him transitioning to defensive back at some point. He recently received a game day invitation from Miami University in Ohio, another encouraging development for a prospect whose physical profile has improved considerably.
He posted his junior year midseason highlight tape earlier this month, giving me just under two minutes of production to evaluate. Through the portion of the season covered by the tape, he recorded eight receptions for 140 yards and two total touchdowns, one of which came on defense. I was expecting a little more offensive production from a player ranked this highly, although that needs to be considered alongside the number of targets and opportunities he has received. His available film is still encouraging, and I appreciate that he has put together a midseason reel rather than waiting until the conclusion of the season. There is enough here to reinforce some of the athletic traits that originally earned him a place among Pennsylvania’s top 250 juniors.
His first rep has him working from an inside slot alignment in an ace look. He gets free on an out route, secures the football and makes a defender miss to turn the reception into a modest first down pickup. It isn’t necessarily a spectacular play, but it demonstrates his ability to create separation underneath and generate additional yardage after the catch. His second rep comes from a similar alignment, this time working vertically on a seam route into the middle of the field. He clears the linebackers and enters an area where the safeties have an opportunity to converge on him, yet he remains focused on the football and completes the catch despite the potential contact developing around him. I particularly appreciate the toughness displayed here, as he doesn’t appear hesitant to work between defenders or attack the middle of the field.
There is additional slot production later in the tape, and one of the more encouraging aspects of his game is how quickly he can create separation at the beginning of a route. He does a good job getting off the line of scrimmage and establishing an advantage before defenders have an opportunity to settle into coverage. The rep at approximately the 1:10 mark is particularly interesting, as he accelerates past a flat footed defensive back and gives us a good look at his straight line speed. That play helps explain why he could become a legitimate vertical threat, especially with his track background and improved physical measurements. He has the acceleration to challenge defensive backs downfield, and I would like to see him receive more opportunities to stretch opposing secondaries as his development continues.
His route tree also appears to be more diverse than that of a receiver who relies exclusively on speed. He can work out routes, attack the seams, bend routes into open areas and run vertical nine routes when asked to challenge coverage downfield. He also shows an understanding of how to work with his quarterback when plays break down, adjusting his positioning and making himself available as a target. I like his ability to handle footballs that aren’t perfectly placed, whether that means adjusting to an underthrown pass or securing a throw that arrives slightly outside his intended catch window. Those are valuable qualities for a developing receiver because they allow him to contribute even when the timing or execution of a play isn’t ideal.
Another positive is that he plays tougher than his previous listed size would suggest. He has enough elusiveness to make defenders miss in space, but he isn’t exclusively looking to avoid contact. There are moments when he is willing to lower his shoulder and fight for additional yardage rather than simply stepping out of bounds or going down at first contact. That willingness means something for a receiver who was previously listed at just 135 pounds, and it becomes even more encouraging now that he has added considerable weight to his frame. His work over the middle reinforces that same toughness, particularly when catching passes with defenders closing in from multiple directions.
Overall, this is a good midseason tape that reinforces why I have him ranked among Pennsylvania’s top 30 junior wide receivers. I would still like to see more targets, more complete offensive production and a larger collection of reps before considering a significant rankings adjustment. However, his improved size, track background, ability to separate early in routes and willingness to compete through contact are all encouraging. He has the versatility to contribute from multiple receiver alignments, and his defensive potential gives him another possible path at the collegiate level. The production hasn’t been overwhelming just yet, but the underlying traits remain promising, and I’m interested in seeing how he finishes his junior season.

Tre Coleman is an excellent wide receiver for Hopewell. His ability to make plays after he catches the ball is outstanding. Catching passes on wide receiver screens, he shows a slippery ability in the open field to make defenders miss. He then shows good ability to run routes and catch passes between defenders. He also has great speed to run past defenders. Coleman is a highly skilled receiver in the 2028 class.
Great sophomore season individually and as a team going from 4-6 to 7-5 and making the 2nd round of The wpial playoffs.
