He not only earned himself the top spot at his position but is also our top overall player in the class of 2023. I also named him my 2022 Defensive Player of the Year. Ziesmer played a huge role in Boyle County’s 4A State Championship run, finishing the year with 83 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles. He is a dominant force off the edge as a pass rusher, showing the speed to run by opposing offensive tackles and strength to fight through blocks. Ziesmer also does a great job of reading the play against the run and getting to the ball quickly to make tackles in the open field. Tommy is committed to Kentucky where I see him developing into one of the next great pass rushers for the Wildcats.

Once he gets to the quarterback or ball carrier, he finishes with a ton of physicality, making sure his presence is felt on every tackle. He has also shown the ability to run plays down from all over the field. Ziesmer also made an impact on offense in the State Championship Game, scoring on a rushing touchdown at the goal line. Tommy is committed to play at Kentucky where I can see him developing into a high caliber pass rusher.

Ziesmer also has the strength to power straight through opposing offensive tackles on his way to the quarterback and finishes with a ton of physicality once he gets there. Against the run, Ziesmer plays with a high motor and uses his speed to run down plays from all over the field. The future Kentucky Wildcat will have one more chance to showcase his talent at his future home field in the 4A State Championship Game.

Ziesmer is a dominant pass rusher that has an explosive first step and shows the speed to run right by opposing offensive tackles. Once he gets to the quarterback, he finishes with a ton of physicality to secure the sack. Against the run, Ziesmer shows the strength to stack offensive linemen and drive them into the backfield to cause disruption. He also plays with a very high motor, showing the ability to run down plays from the opposite side of the field. Ziesmer is committed to stay close to home and play at Kentucky where I believe he could develop into one of their next great pass rushers.

Ziesmer has been a huge part of yet another successful season for Boyle County, accounting for 47 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and six sacks through nine games. As a pass rusher, Ziesmer has incredible speed off the edge with an explosive first step to get by offensive tackles before they have much of a chance to block him. Once he gets to the quarterback, Ziesmer does a great job of exploding through contact to make sure his presence is felt. Against the run, he has shown the ability to stack his blocker and drive them into the backfield to create disruption. He also has shown the ability to use his speed to run down plays from all over the field. Tommy is committed to stay close to home and play at Kentucky and could be developed into one of their next great pass rushers once he gets there.
