6’6, 230 pounds. First identified by myself as a freshman, ranked among the best after live evaluations as a sophomore.
The book on McGlinchey early on was simple. Massive potential in terms of size, a legacy kid at William Penn Charter, a prospect with ample room to improve, one who is blessed with physical traits. Syracuse and Duke were in on McGlinchey early on, yet recruiting buzz took a bit of a dip over the last 12 months or so. McGlinchey is grouped in with Stearn, each posing similar recruiting situations and ceilings. This is a Group of Five QB prospect in my eyes. If Power Four isn’t his ultimate destination fine, yet I’m surprised more G5 and FCS programs aren’t calling his # at a more frequent rate. Delaware State offered McGlinchey recently, worth noting.

is a good athlete who plays quarterback at a high level. He has good tools inside and outside the pocket. He is excellent at sitting in the pocket and throwing the ball. He is also good on designed sprint-out passing plays where he has to run and throw the ball. McGlinchey is a good prospect as both an athlete and a quarterback. The other thing is with his size (6’6 inches tall) he could project as a tight end at the next level.
Off-Season Update: The debate with McGlinchey seems to be is he is a good enough athlete that he could play as a tight end at the next level. He currently has been on the radar of several schools and visited Notre Dame, but as of now, his only offer is Duke. If he continues to develop as a quarterback I could see him playing that at the next level. Regardless, McGlinchey has all the tools to play at the next level.

this past January. I’ve pounded the table for McGlinchey behind the scenes, the upside surrounding the 2026 QB should make extending an offer to the young man a no-brainer. Fully expect McGlinchey to see further opportunities come his way this month. Expect him to climb into the Top 75 at the very least.

was the main draw for me. I wanted to see what Penn Charter had in this young man. Although some other Quakers cashed in on better performances against Wyoming Seminary, I still came away pleased with McGlinchey’s overall performance. The Sophomore quarterback could have certainly tightened up his accuracy, his timing was a bit off, plenty of areas to clean up and work on for sure. Yet I left excited about the version of McGlinchey we might see a year or two from now. The size and stature is an obvious plus. The arm talent is there, I think we are just waiting for the game to slow down a bit. A calmer, more confident McGlinchey will come in time, I have to remind myself that he’s just a sophomore leading this Quaker team to victories behind some studs on both sides of the ball. McGlicnhey threw a couple of passes to

who proceeded to not be tackled and score. The future is bright for this kid so long as he continues to work at his craft.

. I’ve heard rumblings from QB trainers, Facebook posts, those in the know, that this kid could be better than any QB on this list. That’s high praise for a prospect I’ve never personally seen throw the football live.
The last name might ring a bell, as might the high school associated with McGlinchey. McGlinchey’s 6’6 frame should elude to NFL ties if the rest doesn’t do the trick. I admittedly get giddy thinking about young developing QBs who have elite size like this. I imagine Tom is dabbling into basketball, a no-brainer in my opinion. We are projecting here with McGlinchey, I’m often at Penn Charter games, so I’ll be able to report what I see on here fairly quickly.
