Madonna’s return to the field has had growing pains after a year-long hiatus, but 2027 RB Thomas Davidson Thomas Davidson 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Madonna | 2027 WV has given the Blue Dons a bright spot in the backfield. He’s quietly produced 537 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while adding just under 200 yards and two more scores as a pass catcher. Davidson runs with good burst and the speed to break loose when he gets a step on the defense. His elusiveness in space and ability to keep his feet churning make him difficult to bring down for defenders. He’s an under-the-radar prospect from a small-school program, but I see Davidson as a good D3 prospect who deserves to get on college recruiting radars.

7 carries 206 yards 5 touchdowns

Madonna picked up its first win since 2024, and Thomas Davidson Thomas Davidson 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Madonna | 2027 WV was a huge reason why in the Blue Dons’ return to the field. The 2027 RB rushed just 7 times for 206 yards and five touchdowns against Van, having one of the best performances in Class A in Week 2. Davidson was simply a mismatch for the Bulldogs, breaking loose for big plays and finding the end zone nearly every time he touched the ball. With Davidson leading the way, Madonna will have more opportunities to build on this win and could put up some big numbers throughout the season.

BREAKOUT CANDIDATE

2027 Madonna RB/LB Thomas Davidson could be one of the most important pieces of the Blue Dons’ return to the field. Davidson brings experience from Weir and steps into a Madonna program that will need proven players to take on significant roles right away. He’ll have an opportunity to make an impact on both sides of the ball while providing some much-needed experience and playmaking to a young roster. Davidson’s athleticism will make him one of the Blue Dons’ top players and a key part of their effort to get the program moving in the right direction.

Weir –>Madonna

Few players will mean more to their new team than 2027 RB/LB Thomas Davidson. After transferring from Weir, Davidson stays in Weirton for his senior season and gives Madonna a proven playmaker as the Blue Dons return to the field after sitting out last year due to low numbers. Davidson was a productive contributor at Weir and now steps into a situation where he’ll be counted on to make a big impact on both sides of the ball. His experience and ability make him an ideal player to help lead Madonna as it begins building the program back up. Expect Davidson to emerge as one of the better small-school transfers this season.
