I haven’t checked in on Mayes in awhile, and boy am I glad I did. He had developed into a more well rounded back, and has put in a ton of work. His specialty is absolutely between the tackles, as he’s able to run downhill behind his pads and break through arm tackles. He’s a reliable force on 3rd down and goal line situations. His strong lower half allows him to keep his legs churning through contact. He has good vision that allows him to make quick, decisive cuts and break into the open field. His body of work in 2025 was impressive, and I am looking forward to what he is able to put together in 2026.

Most of Mayes’ highlights showcase at least one broken tackle. He’s a big-bodied running back who sports above-average vision and, of course, high-end power. I am consistently impressed by this dudes ability to run through contact. Even when multiple of defenders are wrapped up, he’s still able to fight for a couple more yards. In short-yardage situations, including the goalline, Mayes is an excellent option.
I also know he’s been working on being a more well-rounded RB. I was pleasantly surprised by his route running and hands this offseason. I do think he needs an extra gear of speed to be a home-run hitter, though.

Terreance is an absolute tank of a running back. Playing a lot of JV for Kalamazoo Central, he tore it up on the field and oftentimes dragged defenders along with him. He isn’t going to impress you with his speed or athleticism just yet, but his power and running style leaves me quite optimistic. This is a young prospect that I could see training his tail off and being great. However, he must work to retain his ranking through the offseason.
