Tayshawn Branch is leading Maury’s rushing attack with 75 carries for 758 yards. It’s worth noting that we have him listed as an athlete. Branch is also a safety for his team. His mid-season highlights show him making big plays with relative ease. Whether it’s running the football or catching passes out of the backfield, Branch can make things happen. One of the things I like about his film is his ability to stay balanced when it looks like he’s about to fall. He’s a smooth operator.

TayShawn had a standout performance last night scoring 3 TDs (62 yd, 42 yd, 2 yd). I like TayShawn as a dynamic, dual threat RB in college. TayShaun is well built and strong in the lower body. He is smooth, shows good bend, and good burst. He is most effective in space as he is sudden, elusive, and has good acceleration. He has played multiple different positions at Maury to include safety, LB, CB, WR. This has given him a higher football IQ and made him a versatile, big play RB. He’s built for the position, but more of a big play threat, than every down back. He can be an integral part of an FBS offense. He is a sneaky home run threat who has body to line up in the backfield. He changes directions well and shines most at 2nd and 3rd level. A fresh back who can close out games with big plays in the 3rd quarter. Believe he is a RB as opposed to APB. Instinct is to want to get into space and find the end zone. Type of player who doesn’t take big hits, and always seems fresh. He could line up in the slot, potential special teams upside.

Branche has early offers from Toledo, ODU, Syracuse, and Charlotte. We’ll revisit him during the season as he gets some things on film.

A Running Back and Defensive Back for Maury, TayShawn is a name you need to know. Already picking up multiple D1 offers, his recruitment is picking up. He displays very good speed, short-area quickness, and good change of direction. At Running Back, he has very good vision, and combined with his athleticism, he can create yards when blocking breaks down. He has very good burst through the hole and has the speed to remain untouched by linebackers. He has good contact balance with a very good finish on his carries. On defense, he can align in multiple places from his Safety position. He can operate in both Man and Zone coverage, defend the run, and is a dependable open-field tackler. We have him too low in our rankings. Expect him to be ranked higher in our next update.
