Expert Analysis
Greg Lucas | Prep Redzone Scout
Moret had a solid sophomore season as well. At 6′ and 170, he has the ability to be physical with larger defenders and can shield them from the ball when the separation is not there. He had 35 catches for 477 yards and 3 touchdowns. Moret also averaged 20 yards per kickoff return and 16 yards per punt return. On film, he has great ball instincts and is able to create separation of the snap and on his breaks. Look for Moret and Roetman to be a 1-2 punch for the Wolfpack for the next few years at receiver.

On an explosive offense with a lot of mouths to feed, Moret ranked second on the squad with 35 receptions despite only appearing in seven contests. They went for 477 yards and three touchdowns, both of which ranked third. He flashed versatility on that side of the ball as a rusher and even completed two of three passes for 56 yards. On defense, 11 of Moret’s 13.5 tackles were of the solo variety with one stop for loss. He intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble, too. Moret averaged 20.2 yards on six kick returns, and his lone punt return went for 16 yards. When watching his sophomore highlight video, we witness a crisp route runner with body control that allows for adjusting easily to wherever the ball is thrown. Moret brings physicality to the field, too, allowing him to win contested passes. Speed and elusiveness allow for plenty of yards after the catch.

was the last of the three receivers that DeStigter primarily relied on Friday evening. With five receptions for 52 yards, Moret may not have DeStigter to catch passes from next season, but whomever steps in at quarterback will have a playmaker on the perimeter in the receiver that has sticky hands and can make plays in the open field.
Listing himself as a QB/ATH in his X bio, Moret may actually be the quintessential, receiver-turned-quarterback by way of a senior graduating. If so, the Wolf Pack won’t have the super tall thrower back there like they did this season, but Moret’s athleticism and playmaking ability may make the Western Christian offense more dynamic next season, if he does play QB.
