Utilized in a lot of different ways for Redford Union. He’s proving to be an all-around athlete. Spending time primarily at WR and RB, Tatum has been a massive open field threat.
I still need to dive a little deeper into Tatum’s tape, but I am impressed so far. I like his vision in the open field, and I think he has some of the best contact balance on his team. Very curious to see how colleges view Tatum this offseason.
Best described as an athlete, Tatum is capable of making plays all over the field on both sides of the ball. Specifically at running back, Tatum sports above-average speed and contact balance. He runs much harder than the average back, and is not afraid of contact.
Otherwise, Tatum is a good weapon in the slot and a solid run defender at DB. Expecting an even better 2025 season from Tatum.
Tatum has an impressive sophomore season highlight tape, both as a Running Back and DB.
A ton of Tatum’s performance boils down to effort. Defensively, Tatum is a great tackling DB, particularly in the open field. When faced with a screen, Tatum is able to quickly power through a block to earn his way to the ball carrier. On top of that, Tatum found some success in zone coverage.
Offensively, Tatum does a great job fighting for extra yards, and using his creativity to make the most out of his carries. In other words, Tatum is physical, flashes good vision, and has the twitch necessary to cut into open territory.
The biggest area that I’d like to see Tatum improve is all-around athleticism. He is far from a bad athlete, though his testing numbers (40, Shuttle, Vertical) could all be upgraded. Upgrade athletic ability, and Tatum could upgrade himself into being a future GLIAC prospect.
