I’m happy to see that Steele has released a 2025 Varsity highlight tape. There are some very good moments here.
For one, Steele showcases very good play speed. Plays like 0:30 demonstrate great effort, physicality, and ability to maintain leverage while being blocked. Additionally, I do think Steele is an above-average athlete at the position. Finally, Steele is listed around 15 pounds heavier than he was last season. Sounds like Steele has put in the necessary work in the weight room last offseason.
There are weaknesses in Steele’s game, and some question marks. This is just a highlight tape, but based on this tape alone, I’m confident that Steele has improved since the 2024 season.

I’m confident that Steele will head to the varsity level and perform extremely well.
He’s already shown he has what it takes at the JV level. In a mix of on-ball and off-ball highlights, I’m generally impressed with Steele’s play speed and physicality. Included in these highlights are a number of stops near the sideline (when lining up off-ball) and instances where he perfectly sets the edge, fights through a block, and earns a stop when on-ball. I expect that same play speed and physicality at the next level- Steele could realistically jump the rankings even more after this season.

I was pleasantly surprised to see just how versatile Steele is after watching his film. This season it seemed like whether he was lining up on ball or off ball, he was a difference maker. I really liked what I saw from him as a pass rusher and I also was impressed by the ease in which he was able to drop back into pass coverage.
When lining up on ball, Steele served as an edge rush kind of player, able to fire off at the snap and get into the backfield to cause havoc. He beats any tackle trying to pass set him with solid bend and quickness. There were also multiple highlights where he sheds multiple blocks and keeps up his pursuit and ends up making the play. There is plenty to like about his potential and plenty of optimism about what he can do at the varsity level in 2025.
