A South Georgia back on the rise from Savannah who opened a lot of eyes last season, Smart Jr. is one of the fastest backs in that area of the state and proved it on a weekly basis. He’s a slippery back who can be dangerous in the open field with the potential to score anytime he has the ball. He can change directions quickly, breaks tackles with ease, and can out-run defenders to the end-zone when getting to the second level. After a productive junior season where he rushed for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns, Smart will see a jump into the top-80 across the state in the 2027 class. The versatile back averaged just under seven yards per carry and should see his role increase even more next fall as a senior.

He ran an impressive 10.63 time in the 100-meter this spring and is coming off a strong sophomore season where he ran for 730 yards and three touchdowns. He’s bound for a bigger junior season next fall and is starting to see his recruitment pick up with recent offers from Minnesota, Duke and Georgia State.

He’s strong enough to fight off defenders after contact and quick enough to make them miss in the open field. He was a dependable runner throughout the season, ending his sophomore year with 730 rushing yards and three touchdowns while also showing dependable hands out of the backfield. He hit the 100-yard mark twice and should see more touches come his way next fall as a junior.

Stanley Smart is a stock-up RB prospect in the middle of a playoff run for Benedictine Military. Some may consider him an athlete, but I project him at RB. Smart is listed around 5’10 185 with plenty of room and time to get bigger. He is an impressive sprinter, clocking 10.75 in the 100M and 21.76 in the 200M.

He has easy speed, allowing him to break away from defenders in the open field. He is a touchdown threat on any snap, especially when schemed up opportunities to put his foot in the turf and accelerate through running lanes. He plays with solid patience, awareness, and technique. He runs with his shoulders squared, allowing him to escape chaos in multiple directions. He also looks to do a solid job of following his lead blockers.

Smart is tough at the point of attack. He drops his shoulders, protects the ball, and keeps his feet firing to push piles forward. At this stage, contact balance is his biggest strength next to his speed.

You would like to see him flash a little more in the open field. Regardless, his upside is high. At the very least, he will be a physical runner who can run away from speedy defenders when he finds a lane. With two years of development ahead of him, I will watch him closely to see if he continues adding to his already outstanding developmental profile.
