Thompson really impressed us when we finally dove into the film of his 1,500-yard season, especially his 400-yard outing early in the season. He’s narrow through the hole, rarely getting hit squarely by defenders. He holds the ball high and tight in the open field, a fun quirk that makes his running style stick out among his peers. Despite the unique offense he plays in, Thompson should be a popular player on the recruiting trail next year, making a Division II or even an FCS school happy.

Thompson is easy to spot on the field, thanks to his Tiki Barber-esque “high and tight” running style. He started his varsity career with a bang when he ran for almost 400 yards and four touchdowns in his second game of the season. He parlayed that into a 1,500-yard season on just over 200 carries, and we think he could do something similar as a junior.
