Lanre-Ahmed is looking to build off a productive junior season. Measures in at 5’11 175-pounds. Last season, he had 103 carries for 486 yards with 3 touchdowns, and 12 receptions for 93 yards. He has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, good balance, and change of direction. Uses his very good vision to find a route at the line of scrimmage. If his gaps are covered, he’ll use his explosive jump cuts to pivot into the open hole. Very good inside running. Follows his OL in short yardage situations to get the first down. Lanre-Ahmed bounces off defenders for extra yards and trucks through them too. He is also shown to be a reliable target in the receiving game. I believe he will have a big season ahead of him!

Lanre-Ahmed is a running back prospect whose film immediately grabs your attention because of his combination of vision, burst and playmaking ability. He is an elusive runner who consistently makes the first defender miss, allowing him to turn modest gains into explosive plays. One of the most impressive parts of his game is how quickly he transitions from making a cut to getting downhill. Once he finds a running lane, he accelerates through it and reaches the second and third levels of the defense in a hurry. Linebackers and defensive backs are often put out of position because of his speed in open space and ability to change direction without losing momentum. Lanre-Ahmed also displays strong vision, routinely finding cutback lanes and taking advantage of overaggressive defenders. He runs with determination and it often takes multiple defenders to bring him down. With his team entering a new league this season, he will have an opportunity to showcase his skill set against new competition. The talent is evident on film and continued development could make him one of the rising offensive prospects to know in his class.

Very good inside and good outside running. Lanre-Ahmed consistently gains yards after contact due to his bruising nature, and bouncing off defenders. He’s solid in pass protection as well. I’m thinking he’ll have a breakout season next year !

Shaun Lanre-Ahmed Shaun Lanre-Ahmed 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB/DB Smoky Hill | 2027 State CO handled quite the offensive load this season for the Buffaloes with 103 carries!  Leading the team with 486 rushing yards, he also chipped in 3 TDs and showed some ability to be a receiving threat out the backfield with 12 catches.  Lanre-Ahmed does a good job pressing his aiming point and has the vision to find lanes and bounce to open holes after threatening primary holes.  He runs hard and does a good job making cuts and slicing into angles that limit his surface area and limit him taking big hits against head up defenders.  Look for Shaun to be the bell-cow back next season after the 2 other used backs graduated.

He is a very good outside runner. Hits the perimeter and is gone. He is a good blocker as well in both pass protection or out in space. Lanre-Ahmed is also a good receiver out of the backfield with his good ball tracking and catching skills. Solid season by the junior !
