Latta is a bruising interior lineman for Smoky Hill. He measures in at 6’2 280-pounds. This past season, he had 26 pancakes with 28 total tackles (11 solo, 17 assisted), 5 TFL, with 3 sacks. Latta has a good initial quickness out of his stance with good hand speed to create contact first. He uses his good knee bend and flexibility to get a lower pad level than his opponent. Has very good hand placement, hand strength, and strength to get ahold of the defender and not let go. He’ll push his opponent with ease creating lanes in the running game. Latta also has a very good anchor with his very good balance and body control. Good job readjusting and winning the reps. As a defender, he consistently wins against double teams and creates pressure on the QB. Very good get off and block shedding ability with good tackling skills. I’m very excited to see how he does this upcoming senior season.

is all too familiar with pancakes blocks with 26 as a JR. To start, Latta snaps a strong and accurate ball back to the QB. In pass pro to the slide side, Latta gets good leverage to lift DTs off the ground when coming to help his guards. In the run game, he maintains a good base and will run his feet for pancakes. Defensively, Latta has a good get off at his DT spot. His hands create a lot of shock and knock back creating havoc in the run game quickly. Against the pass, not many OL can handle his bull rush and he shows an ability to create interior pressure. Latta ended the year with 28 TKLs and 5 TFLs. He comes from a rugby background.
Latta first landed on my radar from our PRZ combine events. Latta has been the anchor for the Smoky Hill offensive and defensive line. The 6’1 270-pound C/DT has 26 pancakes, 23 total tackles (9 solo, 14 assisted), 5 TFL, and 3 sacks. He has very good strength, very good hand placement, and hand strength. Controls and steers the defender easily. Very good quickness from snap to block. Good knee bend. Good initial quickness. Good acceleration from 1st to 2nd level blocks. Good get off speed and block shedding as a defensive tackle. Splits double blocks and consistently plays through the whistle. Keep an eye on Latta as he continues to boost his stock.
