Last year for the Edison Eagles, Shaun Garland Shaun Garland 6'0" | 215 lbs | ATH Edison | 2027 State NJ proved to be a sophomore who played a jack-of-all-trades type of role – doing a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. When lined up at tight end, Garland had solid vision in order to find open space. His bigger body is difficult for most opponents to bring down in the open field. When lined up as a sniffer, expect him to get some volume and not solely be used as a blocker. When doing so, we see Garland run behind his pads to gain cheap and easy yardage. Those same pads are weaponized when assigned as a blocker. He does a good job of leading up into a hole and attacking his assignment, really working into their frame. Downfield Garland tracks the ball well over his shoulder and catches the ball with his hands; he is also nimble and athletic enough to win the tip drill. As Garland prepares for his junior season expect more of an expansive role.
