While he was obviously a solid player last season, he looks like a completely different kid than he did a year ago. Without an official measurement, he had to have grown five inches since I saw him play in December–and his ability has sky-rocketed too. He’s going to be a really good defensive end/edge player for this team. Typically a hand in the dirt guy, him playing in space could be scary for the opposing offense. Does a good job of using quickness and mobility in his pass rush, which exposes offensive tackles with bad feet. He’s the younger brother of 2027 defensive back Jael Hester, who is practicing the varsity team at Toms River North as a freshman. Look for Shai Hester Shai Hester 5'10" | 175 lbs | TE Toms River (Youth Program) | 2029 NJ to shine on the edge for the 14U All-Stars and with his size and athleticism, maybe some work as a tight end as he moves forward in his career. Time will tell.
