Westfield will need to find success against Plainfield through the air if they want to continue their 5+ win streak against their rival. They are facing off against an extremely talented secondary for Plainfield, so players like Sebastian Magherini Sebastian Magherini 5'10" | 140 lbs | WR Westfield | 2025 State NJ will need to find ways to get open to help move the ball down the field.
There’s good reason to believe Sebastian can be the productive receiver Westfield needs, as the last time he stepped on the field Sebastian brought one touchdown in and racked up 113 yards. Sebastian has been one of the more impressive receivers in his division this season. A deadly deep ball threat, Sebastian has run clean routes all season long, often using the stutter step to stun defenders and continue to run by them. As a pass catcher, Sebastian consistently comes down with the ball by getting vertical to catch it at its highest point, and also contorting his body with exceptional body control to come down with the catch. Sebastian has 509 yards and 4 touchdowns on the year so far, but don’t be surprised if he makes it to the end zone on Thursday.

Lining up on the other side of Ferrero is teammate and fellow wide receiver Sebastian Magherini Sebastian Magherini 5'10" | 140 lbs | WR Westfield | 2025 State NJ . Magherini added 31 catches, 402 yards, and 3 receptions to the Blue Devils’ arial assault last fall. Whatever Westfield coaches their receivers to do, they many of the same abilities out of both their returning targets. Magherini does a great job making catches exclusively with his hands. Much like Ferrero, he also adjusts to poorly thrown balls without a hitch. Relatedly, he also aggressively comes back to the ball to secure the grab and runs receiver screens very well, as he works his way back toward the hash or midfield flawlessly. Despite protecting the ball when it is secured in his arms, Magherini can typically make the first man miss by shaking him off of his body. Much of Magherini’s route tree seems to revolve around out-breaking routes. I would love to see Magherini’s foot speed improve, thus allowing him to expand his route tree and knock a few ticks from his speed times as well.
