About Sawyer

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

100% dual-threat. I will use my arm or my feet to move the chains.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Natural-born leader. I work hard to maintain my team’s respect and trust. I am also going to push us all to be better - I out-perform most of my team in the weight room and on the track.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Homecoming court Freshman rep Student of the Month in December Clubs: FCA, First Priority, FFA

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My family has always been service minded and I have tried to continue that in high school. I volunteered for Wreaths Across America and as a coach for local youth football camps; spearheaded a food drive for food bank; donated blankets to senior care facility at Christmas, and sponsored a first responder this year.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Earning QB1 position in middle school and then again for varsity.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a program that works hard. I don’t do well with complacency. But I am hoping any collegiate team has weeded out lazy athletes.

It was a really impressive full-time starting debut for Sawyer Ray Sawyer Ray Sawyer Ray 5'11" | 155 lbs | QB/ATH Cherokee | 2028 State GA at Cherokee, and he admittedly exceeded my expectations. He went 14/16 for 135 yards and a TD while adding another 60 yards on the ground on 10 carries. Ray has a lot of juice in his smaller frame. He is an explosive athlete who can be more than just a chain mover with his legs. He has a quick release and looks like he can efficiently dispense the ball around, which is what Cherokee likes to do offensively.
